Mike: *I* apparently need a massage. I was OK after my 45-mile bike ride on Sunday, but yesterday morning I woke up with what I'll call a "hitch in my git-along": maybe top of the hip, lower back, left side. (I have NO clue what hurts--I just know where it hurts Smiler )
So, this morning, I went for my usual run, anyway, thinking it would work itself out, and I think it's worse. Crying

I guess I'll take a couple of days off and hope it gets better by the end of the week. And, I suppose I should eat accordingly. Wink

Lavender oil sounds very soothing, as does the music. Sign me up. Wink

I'm apparently not as fit as I should be, Mike, since I've managed to hurt myself. Frowner

I used to do lots of long bike rides, but now my principle form of exercise is running, and it doesn't seem to keep the weight off the way it used to--aging is a terrible thing, isn't it? So, I didn't train for this as well as I should have....

Morning all wavey

hope everyone is feeling positive and energetic this morning. I'm feeling positive but not very energetic thanks to having 2 hours of my valuable sleep knocked off by my sister coming into my room to inform me of the news that michael jackson has died (really wish she wouldn't wake me up that way)

Should have used the time to get some extra exercise in but as i am walking arround the house like this ----> Disappointed i'll leave it till after work

Morning all,

Another pound off, I really thought I had done alot of damage with those stupid marks and sparks 'yum yum's.. I'm never stopping off at a BP garage that is a marks and sparks... I had eaten the whole pack of four before I had got home.. and looked at the calories and there were 2,500 in them....omg I felt bad...

Anyway I didn't deserve that pound off so I am gonna be very good this week.. !! only need half a pound for the stone.. whooo hoooo..
pgtips
Just been to my mum and dads and they can notice I have lost weight, thats a lovely incentive to go on.... I would like to lose a pound a week, cos by Xmas I will be another two stone lighter...
Slowly but surely is the way forward this time.. and I'm not gonna beat myself up if one week I don't lose..

Well done too to all those that are changing their lives too... Thumbs Up

that's awesome, pgtips! You are doing it the right way, and I'll bet you have the success you are looking for. Keep up the good work! Smiler

Here's a free catalogue in PDF form for MaxiMuscle's 2009 summer catalogue. It gives you tips on meal planning and excersises.
I've never bought from them, I've bought the same products on Ebay cos it's cheaper, but they do special deals sometimes and you just subscribe to the newsletter to get them. Thumbs Up

I wouldn't ever buy the weight loss supplements, they're designed for bodybuilders I think. The meal replacement protein drinks are ok though they are just like slimfast. Never ad em though...yet lol.
I've had the muscle building stuff and it definately works, I just got a little unmotivated, that's why I don't look like Hulk Hogan. Laugh

That's the right attitude PG, slow and sure and not to worry if it doesn't fall away at the same rate (or even at all) each and every week.
In the first four weeks of me seriously thinking about my eating and making changes, I lost 9 pounds, nothing in week 5 and put 2 on again by week 8, then nothing again for the next 3 weeks! But now it has started shifting again and last week someone at work asked me if I'd lost weight. My next weigh-in is tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I have Lost another pound or so. And most of it's down to just sensible eating, though I have tried to be a bit more active than I have been in the last three years since my mum died. I've kind of slumped since then and haven't managed to pull myself out of it yet.
Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing
A recipe for you all Smiler

Moroccan Lemon Chicken

(serves 2) calories per sevring 180 Fat per serving 5g

Spray Oil
2 x 150g Boneless chicken breasts skinned
10 black olives pitted
200ml/7 fl oz chicken stock
1 lemon cut into slices
few sprigs of fresh oregano or thyme
2 tables spoons freshly chopped parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

*Spray a saute pan lightly with oil and, when it's hot add the chicken breasts. Cook them for 4-5 minutes over a high heat, turning halfway through, until browned on both sides.

*Add the olives, chicken stock, lemon slices and oregano or thyme. Cover the pan and simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes.

*Uncover the pan and turn up the heat. Cook rapidly for 5 minutes, until the sauce thickens and reduces.

*Stir in the parsley and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.

You can also replace the lemon with orange for an equally citrusy but less sharp and more subtle flavour.

This really is a beautiful dish. I serve it with roast butternut squash for a very healthy meal but you can also have it with cous cous for an authentic meal.
