Can I just point out that there are no posting 'rights' for anyone on any forum.

This forum was NOT set up just for us, everything was already in the offing when we Ch4 closed down . As far as I am aware the names were regged in February and the Groupee/Livecloud thing was always going to happen, this place was just a temporary thing until that was up and running.

Just what I am saying. We need Bov or someone else RIGHT NOW to look into it before we lose this platform where we can speak to each other and make a decision.

Well, I'm not techy savvy - but I thought the original Eve site was a techy support thing and it was only by luck that we were allowed to set up a temporary home there.

I'm sure we'll all adapt to LiveCloud once the forums are established there - and to be honest, I'd rather just go there - at least this place will link there so less chance of 'losing' anyone. I can't see me using much of the features either, I can't get into Facebook, but the forums will be a part of the whole set up and I'm fine with just using them. I'm not for talk of alternative forums because that's EXACTLY what Bov was trying avoid, and so far it's been successful.

No offence Squiggle but I don't actually think we have a 'right' to anything to be honest. It's a free site and I just hope we all stick together.

all i want is a forum just like this, no extras no facebook ect, i just want to sign in somewhere without searching and feeling like a lost sheep. If livecloud is like that then i shall have to take up permanant residence with DS or something easier to navigate.

I think the main problem is people want to know that even if we are LC that the forum will still look like this.

Look at where you log in...where we have LiveCloud next to our sign it bit, over there it is Groupee....this is also why it is the groupee login we sued on the Eve community that now gets us into the main Groupee site

Kaffy I hope I am wrong but I think that we as a community might have been sold as a package to Live Cloud. This is not about our rights but about being where Bov agreed for us to go, Eve Communities, which is still there. Not Live Cloud.

Its the same people!!

And what Bov may or may not have agreed is neither here nor there...the forum were not set up solely for our benefit but as part of something bigger which has now come to fruition.

do you mean the first site we went to - because that was always temporary. I feel sorry for Bov to be honest... he just did us a HUGE favour and now he seems to be in the firing line. I'm a 'suck it and see' sort of person, so I'll give LC a go when it's up and running properly.

From what I've read it wont. Livecloud will be the new home, in the format it is at present (but tweaked a bit). I could be wrong but that seems to be the general concensus.

The ideal solution would be that another forum like here is set up for everyone to use, whether that's hosted by Eve or not.

Isn't LiveCloud just a different brand to Eve under the Groupie umbrella? It looks to me like Groupie are just targetting their marketing and we're being moved as an existing 'social network' to a different marketing area. As far as I can see, they're marketing Eve towards music. Perhaps LiveCloud is aimed at TV stuff. Isn't the gagajoyjoy thing just an external URL to this area?

Yep..its all the same

I'm assuming Groupie sells forum web services to, say, music bands and TV stations and media companies. I guess Channel 4 used to pay them to look after the forum. By opening this forum, Groupie has a ready made 'social network' with a theme (Big Brother UK) and I suppose we're a demonstration and a testbed for future commercial forums. Quid pro quo and all that.

No Kaffy the first site was their techy help site. Then they provided us with a special UKBB site. But what now? As I said, I went to Eve Communities and it is run by Ted O'Neill but there is no mention of Live Cloud there. Far from being ungrateful to Bov I am trying to make sure we have what he worked hard for us to have. A forum, plain and simple, no fancy features, in other words just like we were used to.

I don't understand all the technical stuff, Squiggle. I'm sure it will all pan out in the end though. The forums look different (and will probably annoy the hell out of me to start with) but as I said last night, it's about the people for me, so I'll probably adapt. I just worry when 'new forums' are bandied about. There were several new forums on the go at the time we were binned from C4 and people were scattering in all directions until we had this place - it just makes sense to me to follow this place where it goes, at least to give it a chance.

As croc and others have said LiveCloud is Eve is Groupee is gaga

Bov got us a temporary home in a support forum that looked a lot like C4 and here... we played nicely in a limited space.. we were then given gaga and ran around happy that we could post images and links without the hand of C4 mod bopping us... we even had a tank for our trolls ..always struck me as a favour.. couldn't really see where the revenue stream was coming from for our hosts.. even with those adds top and bottom..anyway with much kicking and screaming (from myself included) we have to move to a different format of forum or bugger off.. which is why a load of us have been playing in the support forum bit on LiveCloud finding faults and gradually getting them fixed one by one.. I think we are now onto the enhancement (wouldn't it be nice if) stage. So once the big switch is thrown the whole thing doesn't go tits up.

i wasn't happy about it but dave gaga has been really helpful.....and on the other thread(betrayed)....ducky and a few others are willing and able to help out too......

dave chipped in and answered my questions too so i felt a bit happier....

i think my problem was.....and this sounds silly...it looks scarey!!!.....there's so much going on with walls and blogs and music etc...i was like 'where do i start?'........

now i just click the communities link and click on the support group......the topics and posts are there and it became a bit easier..cos i've just ignored the other stuff.....

so we will be able to just focus on the forum and forget all the other stuff there....the layout does take a bit of getting used too......but i think they're still tweaking things and trying to get everything in place.....it won't be the same layout as here which is unfortunate as i (like others)find this really easy......

but i'm sure we'll all settle in and get used to it.....
