And having solid shaving soap with a shaving brush, with one of them razors you had to replace the individual blades in (50p for 10 down Wigan market). And him having bog roll all over his face when he slashed himself to ribbons.

you are me Eeker Eeker

did your parents used to do the Pools as well? I remember everyone having to be quiet when the scores were being read out so my Dad could write them down on the bit provided for it in the paper.
Thankfully my brother used to take me to watch footie every other week so I only had to do the church mouse impression twice a month Big Grin

YES! The guy used to come round to the house to collect the Pools money, there was a spot on the mantelpiece for the Pools money, whoever answered the door would get the 50p and pay the man Big Grin

Yep, Saturday afternoon, dad crossing boxes.

Could never get near the telly on a Saturday. My brothers were older andf therefore the bosses, so World of Sport or Grandstand it was.

My Dad loved the wrestling at 4pm Big Grin As to your photo, you have the shaped fringe so your mum had obviously practiced on the others first Big Grin

Faery - you are so cute in that pic, your brother looks like Churchill Big Grin

I used to love it, but me brothers said it was staged and we used to argue til I cried and they laughed. They also used to say I would be sucked under the ground by big tubes at Morecambe beach, which developed into a big panicky phobia and I freaked out whenever we went there.

Me dad was into football (Derby County, they put a lovely lil obit in the programme after he died, still makes me smile/ cry), snooker (which I still love, but I still think it was better when you had the characters and their smokers' cough and beers on the table), and cricket, which I will NEVER EVER understand, but me brothers sit there for 15 hours on end watching it. They even go watching it live, which I fing unfathomable. However, the FB pictures show a tale largely involving lager. New memories Big Grin

I used to make it do that on purpose Ninja

Ahhh fracas Hug My much older brother had a similar obit in the Brentford programme when he died. He took me to footie from when I was 5 months old, then I started watching Arsenal when I was 7 or 8 and supported them ever since. I still watch Brentford when I get time.
Mason is our family name too Hug

Oh Veggie it is awful losing a bro... I lost mine (p 30, the big un) big hug mate x

It's funny you mention Brentford, my dad got us into Robert Rankin books from the library, I still have a collection...The Brentford Triangle, East of Ealing, The Brentford Chainstore Massacre...I believe there were open topped bus tours of Brentford for Rankin fans at one time Big Grin

I loved my big bro, he was one of the happiest sunniest kindest people you could ever meet,
Hugs back Hug

I've never read any Rankin books but I have mates who are big fans. I met him at Wembley (at a scifi convention) a few years back and bought books and got him to sign them for my mates.
He moved to Brighton and writes about there now I think.

Cheers Valentine

you are welcome but be warned, converting from pdf's is a real pain in the backside, its best to convert the whole pahe at a time then cut the pics out using paint.

(unless its just one pic per page)

Thanks, but it didn't work, do you know how to upload a pdf to photobucket?

nope, sorry.

i dont use photfu*kit because you have to sign up and adobe are gits when it comes to the pdf format.

just a thought but did you just try opening the pdf and doing a windoze screengrab (alt + prt screen) then opening paint and pasting the screengrab in?

just testing now.....
