If only they had switched Vettel onto new tyres 1 lap earlier we may have had a different rest - As a Hamilton follower I'm glad they did not !!!

Most exciting part of that race was final 6 laps.

Oh and Webber and his tyre.

Ferrari win - boo

Alonso win - boo

Poor Webber, doesn't have much luck, does he?

No he doesn't, he is on a really poor run of luck at the moment. Remind me - did David C say that he had 3 DNF's in last 6 or 8 races?

What did you think of the race EFFT?

Just checked this and if you count today then thats 3 DNFs in last 6 races.

USA and Abu Dhabi from last year and China this year.

3rd last and 2nd last of last year and 3rd of this year.

Cheers.

Last post before bed...

I would be interested to know if they had to manage tyres back in the 1950's and 1960's for example or did they last a whole race?

If we want to get back to "real racing" then let's remove Kers, launch assisted starts, DRS, telemetry, flappy paddle gear changes and all those buttons and knobs which can adjust the car during the race . Just driver and machine.

I would however keep all the safety features.

I'm guessing they'd last the whole race EC cos I don't think they were as long races then, though maybe I'm wrong.

And to your second point........yes....deffo driver and machine

'Fraid to say the races actually used to be 300miles/3 hours as opposed to todays 200 miles/2 hours. And the very first race in 1906 was 780 miles!
12 laps of 65 miles each, over two days.

btw. Got the results from my FF1 league. I flunked because of Webber... and pretty much everyone else in my team. I scored -37 apparently and have plunged down the table!

Drop Webber Xochi. I don't think he will have a good season.

I can't. By the rules I'm stuck with all my choices for the season. I've always thought he would come good in time and always chosen him in my team. Oh well, the luck the Australian had at Atlanta may well rub off, eh?

I just think his troubles at Red Bull with Vettel has knocked his duck off and he may not perform as well as he can. Hopefully he proves me wrong as I like him.

Trouble is, he's never quite stood up to the plate. Clearly really talented but just that smidgeon too cautious maybe? That's why he bottled it with Vettel.

Anyway, I'm gonna start to log off Mr ECclestone.
