Such a shame Lewis could not continue his run, but the Mercedes look third best at this circuit. They seem to have tyre issues which has befuddled the engineers.

RB and Ferfairy were always going to be stronger at this circuit. But who knows what will happen race proper - engine troubles on circuit collisions could hand the Merc boys a lifeline.

I think statistically Lewis will better all of Senna's and many others records in the coming years. I always baulk at comparisons between drivers when the difference in years is too great.

These days the drivers are so different, the training they do, the amount of work in the car they perform, the cars themselves, the speeds, it's all very different.

I'm looking at damage limitation this weekend.

Just starting on BBC One HD - off I pop.

I dunno, they have all the metrics and know the performance over time and they can see the drop off as the race progresses.

It's daft. Surely you'd want new tyres to get the best performance out of the car

Ironically I like Seb and Kimi.

I hate all the reverence of the team. They seem to be untouchable and too controlling as far as the sport is concerned.

As is Mercedes and so was Red Bull and McClaren in it's time and Williams

Not in the same way. I believe F have a less public influence that other teams don't seem to have.

I would expect BBC to pay a tribute. Amazing how time flies.

Looks like Japan is proving tricky for Lewis ATM. Seems to have carried a hangover from last week.

Going to be up at 5:30 in the morning to watch this one!

Are you daft!
