I wonder how that will work as they do code a lot of information between driver and team. There also seems to be a lot of chatter throughout the race.
Interesting.

Interesting.
What about the communication of safety information that is performance related I wonder?
The first Formula E race at Bejing:
Although these cars are very quiet compared to Formula 1 cars, the conclusion of the race is as dramatic as any Formula 1 race.
Will give that a watch when I get a bit of spare time
no one watching
Have to wait for the highlights on BBC. Hubby's watching football on Sky.
I watched it live on line...great race Fluffs
Poor Rosberg....do you think he was nobbled?
Makes you wonder, doesn't it Fluffs?
Poor Rosberg....do you think he was nobbled?
nope
I'm German. Nuff said. The boy racer lives in Switzerland after telling us all a few years ago he would never avoid tax.
Well that turned out quite nice for Hamilton and for the driver championship too. Got a nice fight on now.
I loved how Hammy became so cautious when he thought they were pushing his tyres too far. OH and Rosberg's comment over the radio when he finds out Hamilton has got pole by less than a nats do dah's.
Marussia driver Jules Bianchi has suffered a "severe" head injury in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The FIA said the Frenchman is in surgery and will be moved to intensive care afterwards.
Bianchi, 25, was unconscious as he was taken to hospital following the incident which brought the rain-affected race to an early conclusion.
He lost control at the same spot where recovery vehicles were attending a previous crash.
In wet conditions, Bianchi's crash happened shortly after Sauber driver Adrian Sutil had spun and hit the tyre barrier as rain intensified in the latter stages of the race.
"Jules Bianchi lost control of his car, travelled across the run-off area and hit the back if the tractor," an FIA statement said.

The driver in the lead at the time was declared the winner, but that is meaningless in view of the accident
Holding a good thought for Jules
*Hoping he pulls through*
News just in...he's out of surgery, in intensive care and breathing on his own
From what I am reading Jules should pull through fine. They acted quickly and he is young and fit.
As for the race, I enjoyed some of the overtaking by Ricciardo (real emerging as a confident good driver) but especially how Hamilton applied pressure to Rosberg and then passed him. Really enjoying this tussle between the top two.
I've seen a video of Jule's crash tonight. It's horrific No the wonder he's in ICU. *Hopes he comes through it*

The race should have been stopped after the first crash. The weather was dire
Yes Moons, Massa had doubts by all accounts and was screaming about it five laps before Suthil's accident apparently
Crash was horrible - hope he survives - but it was really bad
No heavy duty equipment should be on track to crash into
This needs a review

But if they were trying to pick up the pieces from the previous one?
Damesy's got a good point when she says there's a case for safety car with every incident
Think they need to recover cars from behind the barriers
Think they need to recover cars from behind the barriers
But if the equipment doesn't stretch....
Common sense would say, stop the race but.......
I agree with you....especially in the case such as that one. Cars travelling at over 200 MPH and in the weather conditions
Think they need to recover cars from behind the barriers
But if the equipment doesn't stretch....
You wimmin are sooo demanding

And you men...or some of you have got filthy minds
Think they need to recover cars from behind the barriers
But if the equipment doesn't stretch....
Then they should red flag the race.....and make sure they have the necessary equipment for the next time! Race - not crash preferably.
That's what Moons has just said Fluffs
Think they need to recover cars from behind the barriers
They already do at most of the tracks!
did you watch the video carefully...guy was waving the green flag not even a warning to tell the drivers to slow down
did you watch the video carefully...guy was waving the green flag not even a warning to tell the drivers to slow down
I've not seen that, but when there is an 'off' or clearing from a previous accident you see yellows.
But given the weather and track conditions lining up behind the safety car until all equipment and cars have been cleared would be best policy.

Yes I saw that and contested it with someone over the phone. I don't think he was spaced in the right position. The green flag is sposed to say it's ok to race from that point but I still think he was too close to Suthill's original accident

it's here EC, you can see the green flag being waved above in the right hand corner

Thanks Dame
I'll give it watch when I've finished ironing.
It makes me feel sick every time I look at it. He actually lifted the tractor in the air

and the statement from the track said the yellow flags were being waved...obviously it was green at the accident site
