Obviously not being a Sky subscriber I have to make do with the BBC edited highlights. I did notice how they seemed to jump laps quite quickly at times, I suspect there were a number of laps where not much happened.

Yes, there was some nice incidents and retirements, and I think on any other track the battle between Hamilton and Ricciardo would have been a real nail biter - on this occasion I always thought that despite his issues Lewis would hold on.

Pleased that the Ham-Berg combo got another 1-2 and that Ricciardo picked up third (would like to see him finish in 3rd this year). Also thought that a smaller team picking up points was good.

Personally I don't care for this race and if I were in charge I would drop it.

Bring on Canada

I know, it's not a universally popular opinion, but I do know two other hard core F1 fans who are not that keen either - one I raised the point with for the first time today as it happens.

If we are looking for an exciting street circuit, how about Kandahar ??

As you say Ricciardo is unlikely to have got the win if it hadn't been for the Mrcedes issues.

They're so inconsistant....One minute they are saying Ricciardo's only second because Hamilton's dropped out, the next thing they are lauding the Riccardo win as if it was totally down to him!

Yes, agreed and also they are now talking up Red Bull like something major has happened to Mercedes and Red Bull have suddenly made major leaps in their car performance. I seem to recall Vettel sitting behind a train of cars not being able to do anything with Massa breathing down his neck.

I'm sure Mercedes will identify and resolve what went wrong and we will see business as usual at the next race - which feels like ages away.

I've always had my allegiances all over the place. I always want the Brits to do well and a strong championship battle always makes it better, but I am liking and keeping an eye on Ricciardo.

As ever I've never liked Alonso and as each year passes I see him becoming less of a challenger. At 32/33 he is becoming an elder statesman in the sport, especially with as you say all these 'rookies' coming along. Even Chilton is looking old at 23

Hamilton or the team ???

The driver has last word.... so they say

Not always - Mclaren have been a bit dodgy on decision making tin the past. Will be interesting to see what happened. Gut feeling says this time it was Hammy!!!

Don't really like Jenson much - so it won't bother me if he drops away.

I was a huge Mark Webber fan and have struggled this year to get behind anyone, I've always liked Nico and i'm glad to see him doing well.

Not so sure it was amazing.

What i meant was, no one expected it... they thought it was all over but the fat lady hadn't started singing. That's why it amazed me, it came from nowhere.
