Lap 30 and we are behind the safety car again.
This fixture is too processional. Not enough overtaking opportunity. You have to be brave and hope the other driver is compliant to make the manoeuver stick.
Despite 2 Safety Cars, it turned into quite an exciting and eventful race - what with engines blowing and near misses and near passes!

Obviously not being a Sky subscriber I have to make do with the BBC edited highlights. I did notice how they seemed to jump laps quite quickly at times, I suspect there were a number of laps where not much happened.
Yes, there was some nice incidents and retirements, and I think on any other track the battle between Hamilton and Ricciardo would have been a real nail biter - on this occasion I always thought that despite his issues Lewis would hold on.
Pleased that the Ham-Berg combo got another 1-2 and that Ricciardo picked up third (would like to see him finish in 3rd this year). Also thought that a smaller team picking up points was good.
Personally I don't care for this race and if I were in charge I would drop it.
Bring on Canada
Drop Monaco? ........ SACRILAGE!!!!

I know, it's not a universally popular opinion, but I do know two other hard core F1 fans who are not that keen either - one I raised the point with for the first time today as it happens.
If we are looking for an exciting street circuit, how about Kandahar ??
Just watching live practice on BBC Three. Mercedes look strong not even a fag paper between the two drivers.
Kobiyashi ! pfft, really don't like these types of drivers, 2 offs already.
This could be a good race Sunday.
I'm all excited and eager for the qualifiers.
Come on Ham-Berg.
A bit sad that Lewis could not find an extra few 10th's
So, let's hope he and Nico go at it during the race.
I'm sure they will....as long as nothing untoward has happened.
Go! Go! Go!
Bugger !!
Bugger !!
Well it turned out to be rather entertaining.
Well done to Ricciardo (although if it were not for the Mercedes issues!!).
Button managed to grab 4th - that surprised me.

Think it surprised them too!
Was a very entertaining race.
As you say Ricciardo is unlikely to have got the win if it hadn't been for the Mrcedes issues.
They're so inconsistant....One minute they are saying Ricciardo's only second because Hamilton's dropped out, the next thing they are lauding the Riccardo win as if it was totally down to him!

Yes, agreed and also they are now talking up Red Bull like something major has happened to Mercedes and Red Bull have suddenly made major leaps in their car performance. I seem to recall Vettel sitting behind a train of cars not being able to do anything with Massa breathing down his neck.
I'm sure Mercedes will identify and resolve what went wrong and we will see business as usual at the next race - which feels like ages away.
British GP on the BBC - run up to qualifying on now.
I'm tuned in and the excitement is rising
So hoping for a good qualification and race for Lewis. Really needs to get a run going now.
I find this year that I'm not hugely behind anyone, more just want to see good action and see some of the rookies and 'LESSER' teams showing potential.

I've always had my allegiances all over the place. I always want the Brits to do well and a strong championship battle always makes it better, but I am liking and keeping an eye on Ricciardo.
As ever I've never liked Alonso and as each year passes I see him becoming less of a challenger. At 32/33 he is becoming an elder statesman in the sport, especially with as you say all these 'rookies' coming along. Even Chilton is looking old at 23
Talking of Chilton, he's not having a good weekend already, as he had a gear box problen in free practice and is having to have it changed in time for the qualifying and thus is already starting the race in a lower position than wherever he qualifies!
Apparently they are going to have a standing-start if there's a Safety Car incident for the 2015 season.
Amazing !!!
Q1 - Ferrari's and Williams out !!!!
Shame about the Williams though.
Kimi as verbose as usual - still love the guy.
Who made that almighty cock-up?
Hamilton or the team ???
Hurray!! Button got 3rd
I love Nico too

The driver has last word.... so they say

Not always - Mclaren have been a bit dodgy on decision making tin the past. Will be interesting to see what happened. Gut feeling says this time it was Hammy!!!
Hamilton bailed out of the lap. He will be kicking himself now
Going to have to work hard in the race - come from 6th to win it will do for me.
I hope Nico keeps his head and the lead
And I hope Jensen stays up there too.

Nico may keep it, one would think so given the results so far, but alas I think there is too much competition from behind for Button. I would expect Hamilton to make places quick as he has pace.
Hamilton not very happy there
Who made that almighty cock-up?
Hamilton or the team ???
Hamilton I believe. He's being non-commital - suggests to me he can't bring himself to admit to the error.
So pleased for Nico
What a last lap, it was amazing.
I hope Nico keeps his head and the lead
And I hope Jensen stays up there too.
Don't really like Jenson much - so it won't bother me if he drops away.

No and rightly so. He has made a big error in judgement and he knows it. Now Nico in the interview is (not so subtly) rubbing it in.
I would say don't start getting cocky Nico, nothing is in the bag yet.

I was a huge Mark Webber fan and have struggled this year to get behind anyone, I've always liked Nico and i'm glad to see him doing well.

What a last lap, it was amazing.
Not so sure it was amazing.

What i meant was, no one expected it... they thought it was all over but the fat lady hadn't started singing. That's why it amazed me, it came from nowhere.
Not long to go now...
I am very hopeful that this could be a good race with lots of drivers out of position and lots to play for.
I wonder if there may be the odd coming together too!
