I always back the Brits and Brit teams.

A reminder that it all starts again this weekend.

Off to Monkey World on Sunday. May see the highlights later.... then again I may have to wait 'til I"m back home, where OH has (hopefully) recorded something for me.

I'm really looking forward to this season. 

New cars, new drivers, new rules and hopefully Vettel now having to compete again. 

I'm also going to properly start watching again. In fact I just put my Fantasy F1 drivers and teams into my pal's comp.

Yes, I'm looking forward to it too Xochi. It should completely turn things upside down   I've just heard the sound of the new engine on the telly and it's errrrm quite different 

I'm still worried about Red Bull though. Part of me thinks they're sandbagging re testing and practice and they've yet again found some way round things 

I don't think they are sandbagging, but I am fully expecting them to find a way round their current problems.

Now it's been on the BBC I think we can discuss the first race and what an interesting one it has been.

Certainly was, and have you seen what's happened to the results? 

I have Sprout. I posted after reading the website. I had gone to check the standings for driver and team and noticed Red B ill on 0 points which triggered my interest only to find out that Ricciardo's car had been bit too thirsty !!!

Please to see Team McLaren off to a flyer. Shame about Hammy. Nice result for Nico and Mags.

All in all if the season is as mixed up as today it could be very interesting.

It's really put the cat amongst the pidgeons 

We're deffo off to a competition at last!  

I'm hoping that Vettel's failure doesn't get remedied too soon! 

(I'm enjoying the fact that my brother in Melbourne and his family who have chosen to take Ozzie citizenship will now have to choke on the Ricciado disqualification.)

I do miss the noisey cars at the moment.

But as there is a question over the validity and reliability of the measuring devices the FIA are using and RB will be appealing - they might not have to choke after all!

Don't know if it was just me, but it aeemed to me that they were bending over backwards to NOT blame Alonso for anything!

Missed that bit as I was struggling to wake up !

But does not surprise me as I think Alonso and Ferrari always want special treatment.

Pleased with that result.

Good solid performance for Mercedes.

Just a shame about Riccardo as I am liking him more and more.

They are doing a couple of interviews before Q2 kicks off.

That's a good starting grid. Especially with Alonso having to look over his shoulder at Vettel.

Hopefully Hamilton and Rosberg can shoot off into the distance and pick up a one two tomorrow.

Yes, me too, but given that they don't quite seem to have got everything right yet I am backing the two Merc drivers this year. I still expect Red Bull to get their act together at some point soon.

They prolly will, but it's good at the minute, and it allows others to gather points ahead of them   

As we know the teams are more interested in the constructor's title whereas the drivers understandably want to win the driver's championship. It would be good if Mercedes won the constructor's this year. 

TBH, anyone will do other than RB and Vettel . It was seriously getting boring and I was in great danger of not watching any more 

I got like that with Schumacher and did drift off, but I think these days the competition is a shade closer. So many drivers with potential.

   Even the William's (although not quite amongst the top ones yet) seem to be doing well this season, up to now 

Yes, good to see Williams finally making some headway. I would be very happy to see them challenging the front runners regularly.
