If found guilty I hope they throw the book at him ,regardless of his age.

I feel so sorry for Saville's victims in a way, because he avoided being exposed until after his death. I wouldn't care if Stuart hall was 100 years old, if he did the crime, then he should be brought to justice, so his victims, can finally come to terms with what he allegedly did to them.

Presumably these women contacted the police independently of each other, making the prosecution's case stronger. One good thing to come out of all this is victims finally feeling that they have a chance for justice.

If someone has been living with being assaulted since 1976, the minimum duration the sentence should be is 36 years.

Anyone remember the time he made a very poor taste joke about paedophelia on R 5 Live Fighting Talk? There were lots of complaints and he may even have been suspended. It was out of keeping with the tone of the programme and seemed odd at the time.

I'm hoping he's found innocent cos there has been no trial and no guilty charge yet. I won't condemn him yet. Let justice take its course.

BBC Broadcaster Stuart Hall has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for sexually abusing under age girls.

Hall, 83, of Wilmslow, Cheshire, admitted 14 offences that occurred between 1967 and 1985.

One of the girls was nine-years-old when Hall assaulted her, Preston Crown Court heard.

The BBC said it was "appalled" that some of Hall's crimes took place in connection with his work at the corporation.

Hall's barrister Crispin Aylett, in mitigation, told the court the former broadcaster had "all of 13" victims compared to Jimmy Savile's 1,300.

One count of rape will lie on the court file.

How on earth is that mitigation? 13 counts - and apparently one of the victims said she knew there were others who chose not to come forward. Mitigation because he wasn't as prolific as Savile ? Never heard of anything quite so stupid and insensitive.

No Jen, and he`ll probably only serve half...if that.

The sentences in this country sicken me. Don`t think I`d like us to go down the American route but our system is far too lenient.

I know they have used sentencing based on the time period it occurred, but come on, when you abuse girls as young as 9, they could have got the sentence into double figures. He needs to end his days in prison thinking about the dreadful things he has done.
