Mine swell up too, I end up looking like I've had a boob job or wearing chicken fillets.

Breast become swollen and tender just before your period.
I dunno...cabbage leaves like you use to ease them when breastfeeding?
I'm interested to hear any cures, as I've suffered with this for 19yrs,(I'm 43), doc's gave me some evening primrose oil capsules did'nt work, painkiller's don't work.
I just make sure and wear a tight fitting bra now, but when it comes off ouch.A massage is good from the hubby, but its only a short-term
remedy and he gets a bit frisky.

Thanks for the info Senora Reyes.

I was going to say oil of evening primrose but someone said it doesn't work.

Tell me about it regarding taking off your bra. This evening I got in from work, took my bra off flinching as i did it. Evening Primose oil works a little but doesn't rid of the pain and I have to take a really high dosage to little or any change.
Evening primrose oil in liquid or tablet form helps Senora.

It's terrible when my youngest wants a cuddle, she gives a good hug, and it kills.
I don't suffer thank goodness...but I have just read about St. Johnâs Wort oil. Apparently, for some women, topical application penetrates nerve endings and relieves pain.

Whilst we are all united in womanly chat, has anyone got any remedies for thrush apart from caneston? sorry to hijack the thread but I'm getting desperate.
Could you not get some form of contraception to stop the symptoms? I know it sounds a bit over the top but I don't get a period at all on mine so don;t get any symptoms.

natural yoghurt works apparently. I kept getting it when I was up the duff and the doctor recommended it.

Nope, but at least then I would know what keeps causing it.

Diuretics help some women.
I don't suffer with it, but I'll happily take the massage
soak in a nice warm bath with lavender essential oil in it, wear a good support bra in bed too.

Apart from the yoghurt remedy that's already been suggested, try cranberries (juice or as a fruit) and avoid anything yeasty (bread etc).
Bluddy horrible thing to endure.
As for breast tension....for instant relief try a hot water bottle on the immediate area.
Also, wear a really good supportive bra rather than anything dressy or skimpy.
Who'd be a woman, eh...?
I get it too Only just got my periods back after about three years due to contraception. I wanted them back cos "its natural", how mad was I? Sore boobs all last week with three teary incidents, now currently sat here with a hot water bottle.
Scanning this thread for tips. I just massage my own, the last thing I need is OH getting ideas.

I used to wonder how the hell you got the yoghurt up there...do a headstand and get someone to spoon it in
