clubs, They were the underdogs to get through both them, The Carling Cup, and the manner it was lost is tough to take, even before Birmingham got the winner, where was Arsenal going to get the winner from, Arsenal spluttered all throught that game, Shame, winning it may have had some impact on the following games.  I hate knee jerk reactioned, coming home from Wembley after get done by Pompey, Redknapp was getting the brunt of some heavy talk, within a week we beat Chelsea & Arsenal and he's gods gift. We've actually been playing quite well lately, we'd won our previous 3 away games until we went to top of the table Brighton but even then we were only beaten 4-3 by a 93rd minute volley. Charlton away was a good performance RZB yeah, 3-1. Then we won last Tuesday with 10 men, then we go to Peterborough and get absolutely murdered 6-0 with them missing 2 pens!! 

Ha Veggie I really hope Brentford don't turn up. I just wanna win this year to banish my memories of last years Wembley thumping at the hands of Southampton. We cannot let that happen again!

Mrs Browns Boys is hilarious!!

I finally watch a full episode of Browns Boys last night, I liked it, I'd been catching snippets of it, but have now finally caught the whole show, V good.

We get it down here in the sunny south Joe, I've not seen it as it's a bit late for me, but I gather it's a regional round up of all the weekend football league action, I do enjoy the Saturday night show that follows MOTD. Most weeks it better than MOTD.

Re Nani. I said at the time that I thought the theatrical falling over a la Drogba after pushing the ref had more to do with trying to get Carragher sent off and avoiding punishment himself for the shove on the ref.
Carraghers tackle deserved a double red though, it was that bad.

If we get through to the last 8 I'd rather we got Barcelona than Real Madrid. Mourinho is going to haunt us forever I'm hoping someone else puts them out. Maybe Lyon will stop them even getting that far (they did last year).

Wes brown and Paul Scholes were diabolical tonight almost lost United the game. Hernandez is a great player.

Man United are shite. The fact that they are top of the league says more about how gash the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and co have been this season rather than how good Man United have been.

I agree Crunchy. Similar to when we won it last year. We were a bit shit then too, but everyone else was worse 

I don't think you were as poor as Man United are this season. You had a few poor spells which coincided with Inter knocking you out of the CL, but this Man United team is lacking so much quality the other top Premier League teams should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't know about that. Nani kind of revitalised them. What I don't understand is why Berbatov keeps getting benched when he has played so well. There must be room for Rooney, Berbatov and Hernadez in the same team. I think old Rednose is losing the plot, but they'll win it anyway.

But yeah they're far from classic United, very vulnerable at the back. Marseilles had several opportunities to put the game beyond Man U and cocked it up every time.

Didn't see the game tonight cos I stupidly have a season ticket for Carshite United, but I can imagine what it was like. Typical Man United, lacking quality, but getting through against a crap team. I seen the first leg though and my god I thought I'd seen bad games of football before until I seen that!

Peterborough are on some vein of form at the moment though (still no excuse for 6-0), they hammered Sheff Wed at Hillsbrough tonight. Sheff Wed are heading for League 2 under Megson!

I don't think any team has done well this year... can't really say anyone has deserved the title. Chelsea, Arsenal and City all have better players than United. But it never works like that, United have the better team and mentality... mentality is something that takes years to build, you only have to look at how United are when it comes down to the final mins of a game. Every other team seems to lack urgency and desire to go out and win the game.

Thats the only thing I admire about them, the question is will it still be there when Baconface retires. The next manager in line has got a tough job on his hand, high expectations and the fans will expect them to continue on winning trophies every year. The only manager I could see pulling that off is Mourinho.

Crunchy: you conceded a late equaliser (I just looked) that must be gutting. Outside chance of the playoffs still?

Mincey: I agree, Fergie is the difference between them and everyone else though I think Arsenal have the same hunger they just bottle it under pressure. When we have hunger we win (almost every time) but we haven't really had it for months now.

Absolutely no chance of the playoffs. Our team is definitely good enough, but we're far too inconsistent and sloppy performances against teams down the bottom of the league have and will cost us a playoff place in the end.

Odd that no letter from the club about season ticket renewals... usually recieve them around now. My guess is that they are waiting to see where we finish, if we do qualify for CL, the club will try and squeeze money out of everyone.

Crunchy if it's any comfort I've been there with Chelsea long before we were a twinkle in Roman's eye. It ain't easy but you do it because you love your club no matter what. It could only ever be a labour of love if you want to keep your sanity.

Mincey, they did that to us and they are still doing it. More money than sense and players who want more and more every year and who do they put the squeeze on? No prizes for guessing...

I know, you're right, but it's still insane. Paying god knows how much money in total for stress, misery with just the odd delight.
Think I'll not bother renewing my season ticket and spend the money on hookers.

It is a thankless vocation and if you decided to put the cash into your hooker kitty I for one would not blame you one jot!
