That was a brilliant second half from us and it needed to be. Torres has gone from a natural goalscorer to a player who makes all the difference without scoring at all which is excellent though I'm not sure that's what we paid 50 mil for. Still needs a goal to get his confidence back. Luiz, LOL, he was swinging out of Man U players all through the game and never got sent off. The ref obviously saw Rooney's elbow and decided he was going to make him pay for it.

We might finish in a CL place after all though we'll need to play like we did in the second half in every game to be sure of it. There's no telling any more which Chelsea are going to turn up though. I'll still be nervous every game no matter who we play.

I won't feel bad about us playing a part in Arsenal winning the PL, particularly as it will shut that hypocritical deluded rednosed twonk up for a while at least. He blamed everything on the ref. He was livid that Luiz laid into St Rooney over and over.

Man U, Arsenal and Barcelona all have one important thing in common. They don't like it up them. Go at them like there's no tomorrow instead of rolling over for them and they are all very average teams. It wouldn't surprise me at all if you take 3 points off them if your players go out with a bit of fighting spirit.

By the way Torres did score tonight but it was incorrectly disallowed (even Jamie 'twat' Rednapp) said so on Sky.

speaking of mr rooney......i see he's bringing diving into his game as well as elbowing...his comical collapse in the penalty area first half was most entertaining...don't know why he does it......he's a good enough player without all that...

utd were certainly rattled at the end......vidic got away with a challenge just before he was sent off.....so utd can't have any complaints...

Great support from the crowd tonight spongey you must have loved it. They didn't even pause for breath. It's been a long time coming. We deserved to win just for that second half performance. I hope that's given us a bit of belief.

Ramires: amazing. Luiz: lol not a single one of their strikers came off the pitch without knowing they were in a game. Torres: brilliant. Gutted for him that goal didn't count. Ref disallowed it for no reason at all

hmm that barcelona arsenal game a couple of weeks ago was on a totally different level to the standard that was served up last night.

Last night's game was a full-on grudge match. Not the best football to watch but plenty of entertainment in terms of incidents etc. They probably should have just sent us and Man U out with boxing gloves and decided it that way. The Arsenal v Barcelona game tonight should be better to watch.

It's not tonight,  tonight it's the mighty O's v Arsenal.  Next week Barca, I think .

If the C/L stuck to the normal calendar where you play home then 2 weeks later away, it would be tonight, but because of TV and the way the C/L is now, It's been a 3 week gap.

Yep the timetable has worked out differently for the CL this year. Damn I was looking forward to the Arsenal v Barca game tonight having convinced myself it was on lol. 

I've got to say it would be hilarious if Arsenal went out to Orient after losing in the Carling to Birmingham  Sorry Veggie

sorry i disappeared last night i was sooooooo tired.....

luiz is going to be a great player for us........rooney etc certainly knew they'd been in a match!!......he seems to have adapted straight away to english football....

torres was superb last night....great movement off the ball....created space for others.....and it was unfortunate his goal was chalked off........everything is clicking for him bar that elusive first goal.....but it'll come soon enough......the important thing is is he is understanding our way of playing more and looks sharper each match

i just hope we push on from last night and don't revert back to the team we've been over the last few months........the title is beyond us but we need to finish as high as we can...and go as far as we can in the c/l.............i think planning is already in order for next season..

zhirkov did more in his time as a sub than malouda did the entire game..(70 odd mins was it?).........drogba looked like the drogba of old.....there was alot of positives to be drawn from the game..

but i'll lay odds now luiz will be sent off at o/t in may....you can almost guarantee it...

Sorry, but I do hope so. That ref has taken on 17 of your matches, you have won 16 and drawn the other. He got a major decision wrong in the same fixture last season too. How was he awarded the game? Not only is he a Leeds fan he is the worst ref in the Premiership IMO. The penalty was a joke, Smalling didn't even move his leg. To add insult to injury Vidic was sent off when it should of been Luiz.

The moment I saw that he was the official yesterday afternoon I just knew that we'd be talking about him and not the match. A great game ruined by officials 

Before anyone brings up the Rooney decision, I think he should of been given a red card against Wigan. 

Sorry for my mini rant, but I wouldn't mind if we'd lost square and fair.

well we can all blame ref's monkey.......i don't think you can say utd don't get a fair whack of decisions in their favour..........you get howard webb reffing your games and he's a self confessed utd supporter.....

by all accounts torres' goal should of stood......we would've been 1-0 up....but sometimes you get decisions ...and sometimes you don't........

rooney barged into ramires off the ball in the first half last night...the ref didn't see it......he also dived in the area in the first half looking for a penalty.....2 yellow card offences there.....he didn't get one card........so i don't think you can continually blame officials when you lose....

spongey I agree re: Zhirkov. Malouda's gone to pot now I don't what's happened to him. I also agree we're out of the title race completely so why am I thinking let me see 9 points, win our game in hand that's six, beat Man U away that's 3, Liverpool beat Man U and.... I must stop winding myself up like this 

monkey yes you had bad luck with officials last night but it happens to us all the time. I don't agree with this 'it all balances out over a season' rubbish that's simply not true you just have to hope you get a decent ref in big games. You're almost definitely going to win it anyway so I wouldn't worry about it too much

it was a soft penalty last night i don't think anyone can argue that......but at the same time we've been denied blatant ones......(the liverpool game the other week for instance)...utd got a soft pen in the liverpool cup game when berbatov went over in the first minute and webb awarded a spot kick........sometimes you get decisions.....sometimes you don't

True spongey if you want to keep winning you need to make your own luck. We're not 4th in the table because of ref decisions we're there because we've been crap for ages

Thanks guys for being so charitable in your reply's, after re-reading my post I realize it sounds like sour grapes, but I'm just gutted we lost through what I consider to be a bad refereeing performance. 

After a performance like last night's you have to feel better about your team. You showed some fight, which is all any fan wants from their team eh.
