I know that isnt it but our new home kit is lurverly it actually has full white sleeves *faints* except for the red bands but i like them anyway so retro 70s
I wonder if they took a hint over the fake kit everyone was gushing over though i knew that couldnt be true because they wouldnt go back to the old cannon, no copyright.
Hey Veggie, so excited for next season already and now the craziness of the transfer window will begin after the WC final LOL.
Feeling better today, in fact managed a trip to West Brom on my own yesterday with mobile clutched in my hand in case I needed either Mr Pink or Kayleigh to come to my rescue! Thankfully I managed to do some shopping ( I really needed some shampoo!) and got home in one piece!
Thank you for your kind messages both here and on FB. Joe, I hope Mrs Joe is feeling better as well and I loved the comment that I was the footy thread's favourite Baggies fan! Really made me feel better.
Good luck to Howard Webb tonight refereeing the World Cup final, first British ref since 1974 to have the honour of refereeing the match, I hope he is as good as he usually is, some of the referees decisions has been appalling this tournament.
Mr Meat, I have to say that I disagree with your comment re our new shirt, but I would wouldn't I? Looking at the photos more, I am getting used to it, it's definitely more retro with the wider stripes and the Umbro motif, makes it look like the late '70's shirt. Darlo, hope to see you at the Hawthorns next season, I'm guessing the Man Utd match will be the one you will be at?
I would love to try and get to Barnet to see our babies play your babies, will see what I can do, I should be having a new car in the next couple of weeks and in a newer car would feel more confident making the journey to Barnet to see them. The downside is that Kayleigh has sent off for her driving licence as she is now 17 and is hoping I will give her some driving experience in my new car along with her driving lessons, which she is paying for out of her summer job ~ she is very proud of that and keeps finding me Corsa's in the paper and online to look at, Mr Pink just clutches his head and says another woman driver (!) everytime she mentions driving! Then gets a smack from both of us!
Anyway some football news: We won our first friendly match yesterday at Kiddy. Ishmael Miller scored so let's hope that is a good omen for the season. Tottenham's David Bentley has suspected ankle ligament damage after yesterday's friendly against Bournemouth and Harry is after Joe Cole. Liverpool have stuck a silly price tag on Torres to keep him.
Capt - I'd wear it and all but I bet they wouldn't let me in the Emirates with it on. I think they must have been listening re the kit at the Supporters meetings, there was a lot of anger about the 'fake Spuds' kit with the white shirt and dark shorts. Not to mention we seem to lose every bloody time we play in it.
Pinky - glad you're on the mend hun. Let's hope that the babies fixture is on at Barnet, if not come to the Emirates this season. Good luck to your daughter, they are so excited when they first start driving.
Joe let's hope Torres and his mates all have a stinker tonight
Be warned, it is from the Daily Mail!!
Just wash your hands thoroughly when you leave their site

And so on to pre-season friendly games... I'm not going to get to any this year, the first lot are all in America/Canada, and then the remaining games all take place when I'm off on holiday in Portugal, so that's a bit of a shame. I will be back in plenty of time for the first day of the season with the game against Fulham though...
I would f*cking pissed off if this was one of our players... I don't know why, but players loyalty to clubs in other countrys seem to be non existant. It seems alot stronger in England.
Meaty, I am royally peed off with Barca, Cesc and all the Spaniards tbh
If Cesc does stay, it'll be interesting to see the kind of reaction he gets at the Emirates Cup. I think it will range from stony silence to outright booing - giving the club an excuse to actually sell him.
AW doesn't want to do the US/Far East pre season jaunt as he thinks it's more about the money than the preparation

Then after we play Borussia Dortmund away and Valencia at home.
Blimey, didn't know that Scott Carson was originally from Whitehaven and was actually there when Derrick Bird shot all those people last month. http://www.wba.co.uk/page/News...0366~2091090,00.html
We have already beaten the mighty Gateshead and Billingham Synthonia. Tomorrow we play against Guisley. Enjoy your curry!
Anyway all is good now
As for Cesc I dont have a problem with him. Its his boyhood club and we have always known he will want to go back sooner or later. No point getting precious about it now.
BUT we will be expecting an F load of money for him thanks very much. Also I am getting pissed off at those i nearly swore badly there at Barcelona, their players and their various "presidents". This is the second time they have forced a shirt on one of our players publicly as part of their tapping up process.
This is far less than what Chelsea did and yet UEFA wanted to stop them from having anymore transfers for a year as punishment but they still got 12 months. This is also a club who apparently cant afford to pay their players at the moment because of how badly they are run. Getting very annoyed at the double standards here.
Not sure what details were to join if your new, Perones was the creator I think.
Ali Al Habsi is apparently off to Wigan which is strange, because he was supposedly Jussi's long term replacement. We do have a promising youngster coming through though, so maybe the long term plan has changed...
EDIT: Never mind, he's only gone on loan...
We need to get Perones back for the league, he has the details. I'll message him on FB later and see if he's up for it.
I agree with you but there is a lot of discontent with him although it looks like Barca are backing off now.
He is apparently not going to be playing in the Emirates cup as AW has given him and RVP a 3 week holiday after the final although he may be in the crowd. I have seats in Block 1 so I will let you know if he's there.
I'm going to Barnet tomorrow to see the friendly, it's a mix of first teamers and babies and is usually fun. There are rumours about anti Barca banners being unfurled - Farcelona, don't tap up what you can't afford is the best one I've heard so far but time will tell if it's a real banner
Keeping my fingers crossed Villa buy Aiden McGeady if Milner does indeed leave for Manchester City.
Watched United vs Celtic yesterday, impressed by Dimitar Berbatov, scored one goal and assisted with the other two goals.. seems like he has taken the criticism on board and has improved his game especially after being on a break for a while. Smalling is showing promise apart from giving away the penalty.
Is it me or are Middlesbrough trying to buy the whole Scottish football team?.
There's nothing in the gazzetta about you buying the whole Scottish Football team Darlo! So it must be the 'Boro.
England boss Fabio Capello has demanded that player ratings website the Capello Index be removed from the internet.
The rankings, which scores players on their performances in this summer's World Cup, appeared online on Saturday.
The project was set for launch before the World Cup but, following a media outcry, the project was postponed.
The Football Association told the BBC they are "satisfied" with Capello's actions and his explanation over the publication of the site.
"The index was published without Mr Capello's knowledge and his representatives have taken immediate steps to have the material taken down," read an FA statement.
The Index uses a statistical system devised by the former Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid coach to award players a score out of 100.
Not a single England international appeared in the top 45 players from the tournament, following the team's dismal showing in South Africa that ended with a 4-1 last-16 defeat to Germany.
Captain Steven Gerrard was the only member of the squad to be ranked in the top 100 performers of the group stages, coming in at a lowly 65.
Goalkeeper Robert Green, who was dropped by Capello following his glaring handling error that gifted the USA an equaliser in the England's opening 1-1 Group C draw, had the lowest score - 51.67This is a link to the Capello Index website. .Although this site may shortly be removed, it seems reasonable to provide the link as it is shown on the BBC news articles page.
My friends son (who is 10) is like a dog with 2 tails tonight as AW signed his autograph book after the game. He also got Thomas Vermaelen, Thomas Rosicky, Jay Simpson and a few others but the AW one is the one that's got him dancing
We won 4-0 btw, Arshavin looked better than last season, Chamakh was a bit overwhelmed I thought during his half, Theo was good, Kosceilny (I can't spell it yet!) did ok but I fear for Barnet this season.
They were incredibly poor especially in attack.
Evening everyone
Darlo, I'm glad Berbs had a good game, I can't help liking him even though it'd drive me mad if he played for us
Your chances of getting Super Jack back for a loan this season may have taken a hit. He had a stonking performance yesterday in the half he played in
Know what you mean about not wanting injuries
