It would be a tragedy to lose Carroll at this juncture particularly to a Lancashire club. He's the most impressive striker I've seen in a few seasons and I would rather he had played a couple of more seasons in the top right, in front of a great set of supporters, rather than a bunch of moaners. However it can be such a short career you can't blame people going for the cash.

Lol Disley, shame you guys missed out on loaning Vela, he's gone to West Brom on loan instead. Rumour is you're loaning Sturridge from Chelsea. He looks a useful player, at least he did when he was with the Man City babies, he hasn't had a lot of chances at Chelsea so playing regularly at yours might help him.
RR - it's really difficult to gauge the individual worth of a player in a team game. I know plenty of Man U fans who, until recently, didn't think Berbatov was worth half of what they paid for him.
I still think prices are mad, expecially for English players

I don't really think a striker is needed unless Klasnic's recent niggling injury is worse than has been revealed. Davies, Elmander, Klasnic and Rodrigo should be enough already. Especially seeing as Rodrigo is only really just getting playing time and looks like he could be useful in the coming months.

IMO a backup right winger is needed more than anything, seeing as Chung-Yong was already showing signs of fatigue before he went off to play the vast majority of South Korea's Asia Cup campaign...

I think that was more about trying to get the most out of the deal, It was known he was going for the 48 hours leading up to the deal, more about just the £££.

Newcastle are clearly willing to sell Carroll as they have just rejected the offer, however have not came out and said that he isn't for sale. Still have a really sneaky suspicion (clinging to this hope... ) Nando might stay

Actually RR I do have sympathy for you re Torres as I know how furious I was during the summer with all the Barca antics over Cesc. We had a huge banner that read F**k U Barca with a pic of a hand giving the finger that we had hanging at a pre season friendly at Barnet.
