Felt slightly annoyed watching the Carling Cup last night... West Ham or Birmingham get to go to wembley when our club have been waiting for it for over 30 years. All because some nob thought out youth team would run riot over West Broms first team Im not arsed if its the mickey mouse cup, I would love a trip to wembley. The club seems to have lost touch with the fans, give me a trip to wembley in a cup final over the premier league any day of the week.
Was watching Dzekos press conference earlier today... took a nice shot at United Someone set him up for that.

Excellent striker, but so is Adebayour, how City ruined him I can't even begin to start where that went wrong. I'd take him at Chelsea in a heartbeat.
Wembley is a load of overpriced bolleaux IMO. Less cup games and more league games for me.
Lmao at Sky Sports News... everyone flapping about Beckham being injured.
10 mins later... it was a bloody blister Only in England...

Arry: "Well I don't know why Roberto would talk about Gareth really. It's great to have him here and long may he stay at Tottenham"
Oh the irony...
Oh the irony...
King Kenny fails to conquer the mighty Blackpool. Oh how we laughed
Torres looked fed up... was furious at one point and got himself booked.

It's game over for Liverpool. Massive clear-out needed. I don't think Dalglish realised what an uphill struggle he's inherited. He can't be worse than Hodgson though, biggest imposter since Grant IMO.
I assume Torres was annoyed at the penalty not given for hand-ball.

Afternoon footie folks *waves*
Well we were shite on a stick last night, terrible performance from just about every player but there are 3 that I hope never to see again in an Arsenal shirt - ever.
Take a bow Denilson, Bendtner and Arshavin
Could be worse though; we could be Liverpool!

Hiya Veg, I was suprised by the performance last night, v odd. Still they should get through via the home leg. You know they've knock down the twin towers since you were last at Wembley

Ya cheeky monkey, bugger off to Stratford!!
Hello stranger, lovely to see you. I haven't been on FB for about 2 months since I got a trojan from it that has caused all sorts of problems with my system. I must go back on there as I miss seeing all you guys.
We really have quite a few players who don't seem up to it for whatever reason. It's very frustrating. Your lot are doing ok, stroke of genius loaning Bentley out instead of selling him. You've got rid of him and, if he regains his form, you'll be able to sell him for a lot more you would get now

<<bugger off to Stratford!!>> that's a no no.
although, it would be an easier journey by public transport than it is now, I'm confused by it all, I still think it's about turning the screw on the local council to get what they want in N17. But the local MP is starting to worry me now, maybe they are serious on Stratford.
If Bentley regains form, we want him back, Β£15m for one wonder goal against Arsenal is not a good investment.

I can't quote on here either since they did some upgrade or other. They are working on it apparently. I can't see/use most of the smilies either.
Bentley IS a talent but his head is all wrong, always has been. Real waste that.
As for Stratford, I think it will be a disgrace if you get it over The Hammers but we'll see. It could be a pressuring tactic as we did the same, threatening to move to Wembley when we wanted the Emirates approved

I would rather it was kept for what it is being build for. All along I've thought the current owners of West Ham came to town for this site, more than the club, The desperation coming out of Brady's mouth this week, confirms this. Tottenham are a North London club, I would rather they remain there. Your going to have a bit of a fixture congestion, what with the FA replay, plus the CC semi, then there's the snow cancellations.
Former Member
We should be able to cope with the fixture congestion though, we have a big enough squad, and they have the talent, it seems the belief and application is missing. Drives me bliddy mad at times.
I never thought about Sullivan and mobs motivation re the Olympic stadium but it makes sense now you've said it. What I really object to with the O2, City of Manchester stadium and this new stadium is that we taxpayers have paid through the nose to have them all built and then they get given - not sold - to incredibly rich organisations who make a mint out of them.
Talk about wealth redistribution. It's happening all right just going the wrong way

The thought of United fans paying for our stadium I think the Sheikh plans to buy it out soon... there were talks at a forum with the club that there may be plans for stadium expansion.
Bobby Manc stated RSC and SWP likely to be off in a few days... don't think either stood a chance of making the first team. Rocky has worked his arse off to get back to full fitness (even gave up his car and cycled to training every morning) and Shaun Wright Phillips is one of the few players for us that have come through the ranks.

It ain't funny though Meaty really. It's the same as the banks over again. We get shafted at every turn.
Plus I admit that part of my anger about the situation is that we spent 400 million to build the Emirates and no one gave us a helping hand. Just seems to me that, for example, the COMS should have been leased to you over a long period until the govt had recouped the cost of it

It sounds like Carlos Vela could be heading this way on loan...

I hope he comes back in the form he's been showing all season.
Last season I think you had one of your best performances of the season at WHL, mind you a lot of draws around this season, Other than Blackburn at home, I don't think United have been flying this season.

Looks like our Owner is ahead of the game on these financial fair play regulations... building work is going on around Eastlands which will generate income.
Will that generate enough income to cover the out goings. What do they intend to increase the capacity to, or are they developing the ground to generate come from other sources.
Former Member
Disley - I'll be interested to see how Vela does with you. I really like him as a player but he doesn't get enough opportunities at present and I'm not sure our formation suits him. Like to see how Coyle will fit him into your set up
Former Member
Meaty, did you see this report about the financial fair play rules? It says that the Sheik has sent people to talk to UEFA to make sure they can comply

Well at the moment there is building work going on outside the ground... The Sheikh has invested Β£1bil to build casinos and hotels. Theres also plans for a stadium expansion going on.... my first thoughts on this FFP was that the Sheikh could simply get Etihad Airways to offer a huge sponsorship deal. But it seems Uefa clamped down on that aswell.
Theres one thing that baffles me... is this "monitering debt". There is about Β£3bil worth of debt across the top clubs in Europe, what are they gonna do? Simply ban them all?

Il only fully understand this when it finally comes into play... at the moment fingers crossed we have something up our sleeve
Says the Β£3.5mil bid for Charlie Adam is "disgraceful".... and then goes and sticks in bids himself for talented players and only offers Β£20-500k. If he thinks he's being ripped off he should see some of the bids we get
"They're taking the mickey out of us.
"The offers we are getting and the clubs that are asking about him, I believe Charlie is better than that, with the greatest respect to them."

Were Spurs the first side to do the double Rzb?

They were the first side in the 20th century Monkey but I have a feeling that Preston North End or one of the original founders of the league did it back in the 1890s
Thanks for that Veggie

I suppose that's what you get for Β£17.5million these days...
