The crapness of the FA cup is alive more like!  At home/away higher placed club/much lower placed league club, makes no difference - Norwich always go out at the first (or second in good seasons) opportunity

Still at least we thrashed the mighty Paulton Rovers FC 7-1 away, last year! :ironic smiley:

The 13th time in 16 seasons that Norwich have failed to get past the third round. Must be the worst record in the league considering that in 15 of 16 those seasons Norwich came in at the third round!

I hate the FA Cup!!!!

Hi, it certainly does Darlo, Every ***** season the same early exit! (where is that crying smiley when I need it!)   I hate the FA Cup with a passion!

The odd thing about the FA cup is good manager or rubbish manager, home or away, rubbish lower league team or Premiership side, you name it, the FA cup is cursed for Norwich.

Still, the season overall has more than exceed expectations, so I can't really grumble,  and Lambert not being tempted by Burnley's offer is very good news.  Now what would be perfect is if the FA abolished the FA Cup! (only joking).

Of course they will VD it's a cup final for Liverpool then they'll go back to being inconsistent in the league, if they continue to play rubbish whilst Kenny is still in charge they'll go through the Liverpool greats at this rate.

LOL about Lambert, nice to see he's happy where he is at considering quite a few bosses close to or near to getting the sack at the moment.

Good on Ryan Babel I say. He is only saying what most footie fans in this country know; Webb is a self confessed Man U fan. The fact he is allowed to referee games involving their rivals let alone Man U themselves brings the whole game into disrepute.

I see he celebrated receiving his gong for services to Man Utd PLC by giving them yet another dodgy penalty.

webb is a cheat........everyone knows he's a utd fan.......gives them a penalty after 30 seconds then sends off gerrard.......if he thought gerrard's tackle was worthy of a red card..how come he didn't send off de jong in the w/c final when he booted alonso in the chest with no intention of going for the ball?............how he's allowed to ref utd games is beyond me...

Webb was a disgrace today. Gerrard sending off was fair enough however he was in no way near enough to see that penalty, his 4th official would have been the best placed man to call that one.

United are an absolutley terrible team. Liverpool are very poor at the minute, however United grind out results and more often then not get the rub of the green in 50/50 situations. I think that game says a lot more for Liverpool than for United, in that 60mins without their best player they held United, Aurelio unlucky not to score that set piece going top left. How Berbatov got MOM was ridiculous. He miss an open goal shot as well as 3 6yard shots. IMO Reina should have got MOM made some suberb point blank saves and at a stage he made 4 or 5 shots in about a minute he also got fingertips to what was a very well taken penalty.

I think Liverpool should push on now and a top 4 spot is still conceivable if they win their games in hand. Dalglish can instil them with belief again, something that was on display today that had been lacking under Roy.

Can't really say the rags are a terrible team... on paper it looks weak, but on the field they manage to get the job done. They must be doing something right as no one has managed to beat them this season, don't know if it was a pen or not either... I couldn't see if there was contact and how Webb can blow the whistle from that far away is beyond me, he was no where near the play and the linesman didnt flag either. He took it upon himself to point to the spot without any of the officials indicating that there was contact, if there was any contact made by Agger... its certainly a soft pen to give, but teams get soft pens week in week out.

There was also another point of the game where Rafael lunged with both feet off the ground, seemed less obvious than Gerrards though. A penalty in the first 35 secs is a right kick in the bollox... screws up your tactics and then the clocks against you.

Meanwhile, today the atmosphere at Leicester was booming, one of out best away supports all season... shame the same can't be said about the game Milner was just immense... Jo was sh*t as usual and the defense was a shambles. The tribute to Neil Young went down well. Banner out, scarves being waved and the poznan got going.

Wigan in the fourth round then.

I missed the game against them on Wednesday (and the game yesterday) because I've been down in that London for a week, so it'll be good to get the chance to watch the most famous local derby of them all...

Also there's a rumour going around that Coyle is in for Wheater for around Β£2m, but then it's silly season so who knows what to believe...

Reference:
Disley, where were you in London? And if Coyles in for Wheater does that mean that Cahill is on his way out?

I was staying not too far from Wembley. I went down to see the sights and all that jazz...

It could mean that, and I'm sure that there will be some journos making that assumption. But Cahill and Knight are the only recognised centre backs at the club right now (excluding younglings of course). So if Wheater signs, and Cahill goes, there'd still be the need for a further signing.

I live pretty close to Wembley myself, in Colindale. Younger son works right next to the Stadium in York House.
There are rumours that we are in for Cahill and a few others. We are desperate for a quality CB with TV5 and his never ending achilles problem and now Squillaci has a hamstring. There are even rumours doing the rounds that Sol might come back again. If it's a choice between Sol and a couple of our babies I think the babies should get a chance as Sol has been dire for the Toon this season
