Recall seeing Barnsley at the bridge on their previous PL tenure - think it may even have been the Boxing day fixture!
Garage Joe posted:In an ideal world it would be Huddersfield, Sheffield and Barnsley going up and Burnley and Hull to stay up. Not much chance of that I suspect!
I'm sure the Barcodes will achieve promotion Sprout. Much as though I like the eating establishments and charity shops the football ground is never a pleasant day out.

Garage Joe posted:We watched it and were cheering you on. It's very important that a few local teams get to the Premiership.
On the other hand if we go down .........
At the moment you have three Yorkshire clubs in the top six vying for promotion. Knowing your luck it will be Reading who get promoted.
Norwich's season is going to shit. It's like 1997 and 2004 all over again. Alex Neil has managed to spend big money to make the squad worse. Almost all his signings are crap or at best mediocre. Time for him to go. "Talented young manager learning his trade" is taking far too long to learn his trade so it's time for him to **** off and "learn his trade" in League Two not one of the top 30 biggest clubs in the country.
Nelson "undisclosed fee" Oliveira has scored a few quality goals of late - although sadly for you not winning goals - and several months in the making! 4 from 13 ... that's better than van Wolfswinkle already!
Who would you fancy to replace Neil (realistically)?

Can I suggest Garry Monk.
Anything to stop Leeds getting promoted - also he is managing to turn around a side which have been very poor in recent seasons.
Garage Joe - I was following the game yesterday and was delighted when you went 1-0 up. A real shame Manure turned it around.
Cold Sweat - You must be delighted with the run you are on, I understand one more win and you equal Arsenal's record.
On a personal note, I checked the results about 6 mins from the end and we were trailing Preston 1-0 to an own goal !
Checked the full time result and we snatched equaliser in the 94th min. Would have liked a win but got to be pleased to take an away point.
Have to admit I thought your scorer (Reach) was a Preston player nowbut clearly not!
Conte hopefully won't tinker with the squad too much this month. Even with Oscar going he should have enough resources to not need to make a rash January signing. Records aside; I would be happy with a point at the lane this week!

52 mins on the clock and Arsenal are 2-0 down at Bournemouth
Could that be Arsenal stepping away from the title race?
Alas! We'll never know.

Yeah! I think I spoke too soon. Although a sending off probably helped. Still a bit sweet and sour I would have thought, is 1 pt good enough as a team wanting to challenge? But 1pt is probably not what they expected at 3-0 down. Funny old game.
so the long winning streak comes to an abrupt end! spurs at home giving nothing away - as has been their stubborn resolve at the lane all season.

I'm rather miffed at the result, I was hoping to 'shut the Gooner up' who sits next to me.
FA Cup Third Round
West Ham v Manchester City
Live on BBC One and BBC One HD
I shall have it on whilst cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
City's second goal was a peach of a build-up. Just a shame the defender put it in the net and not Sterling.
...and there is the third, as easy as you like.
50 mins - 4-0. This could get even more embarrassing for West Ham.

It is already!
I'm surprised that City have not got another yet. They are not exactly sitting back.
5-0.
Nearly 6 there.
Like I said....It's a route
Just shows how much they want Defoe
It's FA Cup 3rd round tomorrow. When I was a young boy in the late 70s and 80s I had a passion that Norwich would progress in that competition and maybe win it. Now, after so many pathetic FA Cup surrenders, I couldn't care less!
The 'romance of the FA Cup'. No romance left in my heart as my club don't care less about the FA Cup and have waved the white flag in the FA cup season after season. The only Premier League side to lose at home to a Conference side, sums it up. Norwich want out of the FA Cup as soon as possible. So why waste Β£25 on watching a match where Norwich WANT to lose!
Β£25 to see Norwich's reserves lose against Southampton's reserve squad in a nothing 3rd round FA Cup match in a competition Norwich don't give a flying **** about. Think I'll pass!
Our tickets were Β£10 for adults and Β£2 for the grandkids. Naturally I bought them as soon as they were available. Unfortunately I didn't read the small print. It's 3pm Sunday. I'm not going. Hopefully we'll win and get a 3pm Saturday KO somewhere nice. Bolton, Barnsleh, Wigan or Fulham would be OK.
Rotherham v Oxford looks like a potential upset to me.
Cold Sweat posted:Rotherham v Oxford looks like a potential upset to me.
You mean Rotherham might win.
That's a shame, I was hoping Reading would hold Manure to a replay, but they never even came close.
PNE currently 1-0 up against Arsenal.

They pulled it back for a 2-1 win. No giant killings to see here ...move along.
Barnsley, Bolton, Huddersfield and Wigan are still in it! So whoever wins between us and t'Owls will fancy a day out. Hopefully at 3pm on a Saturday!

I read we progress tonight
out of the FA cup at the 3rd round, yet again. ho hum "concentrate on (not winning in) the league". season's now over!
In spite of us losing 1-3 that was the most entertaining game of the season!
Hopefully Patrick Bamford will now get some regular football - which he hasn't had since his season on loan at the riverside.
They should have brought him on a little earlier!
I have to say that Andy Carol really is very special. Not only is he one of the better strikers he was also one of their best defenders.
