I am watching the Chelsea v Scunthorpe game on the telly. Not long ago Scunthorpe where refused what I saw as a perfectly good penalty shout. How can it not be a penalty if the the chasing defender ankle taps the attacker in the box, who is brought down?

The commentator reckoned the the ankle tap was only a slight one. Well I'm sorry commentator but slight or not it was a penalty

I may have mentioned that I bought my railway tickets cheaply for Milton Keynes away as soon as they were issued.

Someone told me that it was an FA Cup week. At 80 minutes or thereabouts we were losing 2-1 and so were MKD!!! Our midfielder Foreshaw had an open goal at his mercy and I found myself shouting "Miss!" He did! Alas! MKD then equalised in their game. But still, it makes our game more likely to take place, and our away game at Charlton too!

Sheffield Wednesday 2

Dirty Leeds 0

I was a bit nervous in the first half as our third choice keeper looked less than confident, I feared the worse and said to the guys next to me, we need to win this from the front, put Leeds under pressure.

The second half was much better in terms of taking the advantage, we were still passing it around but also took our chances, scrappy as they may have been, they all count.

The funniest thing was Leeds were given a free kick in our half, we were in the process of making a substitution (sanctioned by the referee) and for some reason he let them take the free kick (which they scored from) which Forestieri was still walking off. Fortunately the ref went to the touchline, realised the mistake and made them retake the free kick - Cue chants of "Sit Down, Shut Up" from the Wednesday fans. Sweet.

Such as shame that Leeds have some  of the worst away fans in football. On my walk home I had to be very careful as a large group of Leeds fans had to be corralled by police to stop them causing trouble (I have not seen any other away support having to be controlled like this). They were also none too polite on the way to the game, opening windows on the Supertram to shout abuse at passers by (not even football fans).

The best bit, we beat them 2-0 and I am pretty pleased with that.

Pep Garibaldi going to Man City in summer. Looks like Man-Ure were caught napping again.

Do you think this was arranged last summer?

I wonder if Pellegrini will stay in England?

I saw the news tonight and apparently this deal was done quite some time ago, so my dig at MU was ill conceived.

Pelle may do if a club he is interested in comes forward. One never knows how the final part of the season will pan out and where the vacancies will be. I would expect foreign sides to be interested in him.

Today? It's taken about a year to buy Rhodes. We've been after him each break, the last time the Venkeys upped the price after we had agreed. We bought him again on Saturday then it was called off  one more time. Personally I won't believe it until I see him running out in a 'Boro shirt on Saturday against er, Blackburn.

Our leader also took the early plane out to buy a young player from Standard Liege, and we have another Belgian on loan from Leicester. We obtained Gaston Ramirez last week. All the best brains are working to see if we can save our famous La Bamba song.
