Have a good trip GJ.

Were home tomorrow to Blackburn, so it looks like we are both playing clubs quite close together.

Good luck with that EC.
As you know we had a bad full back injury and our two first choice centre backs sent off on Tuesday, our back up centre back is injured, and woodgate can never last a game. Not an ideal situation against Burnley's attack. Should be a good day out though.

Neil Adam's first game tomorrow. Neil who?

He had a famous (well, for Norfolk) spat with Glenn Roeder when Adams was under 18s boss at Carrow Road, a Radio Norfolk commentator and host of the after-match phone in. Glenn Roeder was Norwich manager at the time.

Adams was critical of Roeder's tactics and man management on air and Roeder got him sacked from his position as under 18s boss at Carrow Road.  Roeder said words to the effect that Adams was an amateur idiot who was only up to managing the under 18s and was talking out of his arse.  When Roeder was sacked, Adams was latter reappointed as boss of the under 18s.

I'm not saying Norwich's decision to appoint Adams is a wise one, but Hughton really had to go because the football was shit and Adams did manage his under 18s to win the FA youth cup last season, beating Chelsea.

Adams is passionate for Norwich (of course loyalty doesn't make a good manager) and I expect the step up will be too much for him, but Adams genuinely loves the club and hopefully will install a passion that has been so lacking under Hughton.

Liverpool tomorrow.  How I'd love Norwich to put one over those buggers and make all those plastic scousers cry into their beer.  Derailing Liverpool's title push would be fantastic.  The army of Liverpool pundits will be rather p****d if Norwich don't do the decent thing and play their bit part in brand Liverpool's 'romantic' triumphant title winning season.

The pundits, Surrey and Herts plastic Liverpool fans, professional scousers don't have much to worry about.

Sadly, Norwich are not up to the task I can't see them giving Liverpool a fight.  Norwich have no one who can score goals, whereas Liverpool are looking unbeatable.  Liverpool hammer Norwich even when they're s**te.  Suarez will probably get at least three (as usual) and if it ends up at only 0-2 it will be a 'victory' of sorts.

I completely forgot we were playing. The result was a massive surprise for me especially as we won the game having had a player sent off !!

I see you have Millwall - hopefully you will put another nail in their relegation coffin.

You have had some good results of late. I doubt you will struggle against Millwall. My prediction is 2-0 to you.

It's the hope I can't stand. It's all maths but we could still get in the play-offs. We play the three bottom teams and Reading. I'm looking forward to another season in this division though. I'm not keen on the Premiership but a trip to Wembley to beat Wigan would be nice.

I was thinking the same about Middlesborough recently. If your good form had started a few weeks earlier you could be knocking on the door of the top 6 now.

Reading have seemed to lost some momentum of late. I also think with us beating Bournemouth there are a clutch of teams who may see the top 6 as a good possibility now.

I didn't think I'd be saying that Norwich had been unlucky against Liverpool not to have got anything out of that but they were unlucky.  Made Liverpool look ordinary and a massive improvement on the dreary no-shows under Hughton.  The team looked battling and like they wanted it.  Norwich usually hoist up the white flag against Liverpool but got in Liverpool's faces and Liverpool should think they were lucky to come away with a win.

Norwich's season-long problem is in finishing and had things been slightly different they could have easily won.

A defeat's a defeat of course and it does Norwich's chances of survival no good but if they'd played like that all season there would be no relegation worries.

Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton Athletic

Are we going to do our neighours and the chasing pack a favour by beating Charlton or are we going to do the usual, beat a decent team like Bournemouth 4-2 away from home and then out up a mediocre display today?

Only time will tell

When any hegemon leaves an organisation there is a good chance it will implode. I can remember when Matt Busby left and the following period of panic and poor decisions resulted in them being relegated. They didn't make that mistake with SAF.
As they, whoever they are, say, "don't interfere when your enemy is making mistakes!"

Chelsea really are the shittest of shite. I've never known a team so brilliant at playing such negative, shite football and getting to Champions League finals by it. They won the thing 2 years ago by being completely outplayed for just about every minute of every match of the knockout stages and it's starting to look like they are going to do it again.

Wish UEFA would find a valid reason to boot the ****ers out of the competition for a few years.

Almost a textbook away performance in the context of a two-legged European cup tie – I enjoyed it.

Textbook?

Would you see Real Madrid or Bayern or even Barcelona produce such a negative anti football display?

The worst I've ever seen was 2 years ago, Chelsea at HOME to Barcelona, completely parked the bus, 11 men behind the ball, anti football, no desire whatsoever to attack, but got a lucky break thanks to barca losing the ball in midfield and Drogba capitalising. Then followed the final, probably the most negative cup final performance we'll ever see. Although I have to say Man United's negative approach in both games against Bayern was just as bad, but to be fair they don't usually adopt the Chelsea way.

Chelsea are a woeful football team, a disgrace to European football and an embarrassment to English football and the premier league.
I hope it fails miserably I really do.

I would tend to disagree with you there Cologne. I think British footballers (including the English) in general don't go to ground at the drop of a hat. In my experience it is by far and away the Latin players including the Italians and Spanish that go down like a sack of spuds.

My experience is in watching around 55 games a year for many years.

However I have not really seen the Germans as players who go to ground easily either.

Having said all that, the last Bundesliga game attended, H96 v HB, I remember describing as like watching two teams managed by Gus Poyet from his Brighton days! A niggly affair with plenty of players falling to the floor for no apparent reason.
Bugger! Surreal Madrid have scored.

It's always a risk. I do remember Newcastle getting promoted using the same tactics, grinding out wins, but the same tactics haven't worked for us this time around.
It was nice to hear the Madrid fans singing the  "We're Middlesbrough!" Song tonight mind.

Is the real problem at Man U that Alex Fergusson won't be winkled out? He's offered Giggs any support he might need. Yeah right. Why retire and then sit in at every game and make the new 'chosen one' look like an idiot?
