I was just thinking this morning whilst watching the news item that Wednesday should sign him until the end of the season.

 

As yousay the wages would more than likely be the stumbling block and whether he would want to drop down a division.

At 35 I would not say he is well past his sell by date as that would suggest players in the 30-35 year old range would also be ready for the scrap heap.

 

I think in the right Championship team he would bang them in for fun.

 

But as a West Brom fan (and you see him regularly at the Hawthorns) you are probably better placed to judge his week in week out performances than me.

 

 

An unusual afternoon here. I'm sat sitting at home listening to the game on the radio.

No matter how good or bad the opposition is EC you still have to score the goals and get the win and you did today

Lost again.  The only surprise was that Norwich managed to score a bonanza of 2 (yes, 2!) goals!  First time in 16 games and that was after letting in 3 and putting the match beyond doubt. 

 

What's slightly p'd me off this week is the pundits taking a pop at Norwich because Hughton's under threat. As if Norwich are such a small club, they should just put up with Hughton's ineptness.

 

It's up to Norwich to judge their manager and Hughton's turned an entertaining team into an utterly boring one, while still leaking goals.  His star 7.5m striker has scored one goal all season. 

 

It's also bit rich coming from the army of boring, arrogant professional scouser Liverpool old boy pundits, who think it's Liverpool's birth right to win the Champions League and Premier League. 

 

Try telling them that "Manchester United are a much bigger club than Liverpool" (which is true) and see how well that goes down!

I noticed your next fixture is against QPR, let's hope you continue the trend of beating them.

 

To be fair, even with 10 men they looked pretty decent.

 

 

It's all end of season type stuff. I can't believe I only have three trips to go. Huddersfield, Burnley, and Yeovil. Even I am unable to afford Brighton prices. Yeovil will be a first.

 

Yeovil is a fair bit of a trip for you GJ. I trust you will be making a weekend of it. Yes we are rapidly approaching the end of the season. Is Brighton really expensive then? 

Getting to Brighton is as cheap as anywhere but it costs a fortune for a weekend overnight stay.

 

I was wondering if there was somewhere close which is within striking distance of the ground, but allowing you not to stay in Brighton itself. I've not ben to Brighton (as an adult) so completely out of touch with costs in that area, but knowing it reputation with Lononders it does not surprise me it's expensive.

(I looked through everything available and have to say that even staying at a B&B without breakfast is more expensive than staying at a decent Bolton [Horwich] hotel, and I think that I can conclude that I will never go to Brighton)

Meanwhile an exciting game against QPR awaits.

Sunderland tomorrow.  If Norwich lose they're as good as down.  Not that I mind too much.  This season Norwich have had a crap manager who can't motivate, but is beloved of the punditry because he's personable and media savy, managing a team that can't score, boring tactics, can't defend once their heads are down and a shit striker who cost 8 million and has scored one goal all season.  The Championship might even be better than this rubbish.  Cheaper at least!

 

 

Returning to the Premiership is our sole ambition and yet apart from the extra club cash, I don't see any advantage. More expense, less games, and not many good days out.
We've had some lovely trips away over the last few seasons.
Hopefully Hull may be relegated and swap places with Ipswich. Donny and Barnsley to stay up and be joined by Peterborough, for another entertaining season of football and real ale.
