Or was he not as fit as he could have been? Just done some googling and that is the consensus from those who studied football back then. All ability but didn't keep himself as fit as he could have which stopped him reaching the very top. Shame really if true.

Yep, he always looked a little 'chunky' tbh but still 'did the stuff' for me

Yep, he always looked a little 'chunky' tbh but still 'did the stuff' for me

That I have no doubt, but with his ability if he'd got himself properly fit he probably should have played in multiple world cups, champions leagues etc
