So Hodgeson is usless again?  That was quick.  He has managed a good number of international teams very well, I am sure a 5th rate England team may pose more of a challenge than Switzerland though.

The problem with Liverpool hasnt been Hodgeson though he will no doubt be sacked by Christmas, he was stupid to go there though.

Hes never interviewed well, Prometheus I remember when the press disembowled him when he was at Blackburn post Jack Walker again when the club was broke.

It seems to me that a lot of management especially international management boils down to whether the players fear/respect the manager enough.  Do most of the Liverpool players have that for a softly spoken southern manager with Rhotacism?  Na I didnt think so either.  A lot of the power of fear is removed at international level especially with England where failure is shouldered by the manager and players rarely if ever get dropped/kicked out of the team. I also dont think that the Liverpool players are as good as they think they are, after Alonso and Mascherano left.

On another note, I am sick and tired of that fat headed munter at Birmingham trying to justify his hatchetmans destruction of a players career.  We dont keep going on about it so why should he.

No its not the same,  and for your information Alex, Wilshere DOES seem that sort of player to me from what I have seen.  He is a dirty little **** and often jumps in late(he reminds me of Dennis wise a lot and thats not a good thing) and needs to clear it out of his game or it will be a rollercoaster career.

Hi Joe! Yes he is a hero at the Riverside isn't he?  I would love to see him back in management as you know I have a lot of respect for what he did with us and was quite sad that he couldn't finish the job that he started.  Although, had he not have left us when he did, we wouldn't have got Di Mat as our manager and well..... lets just say, I would love to know what he says in those half time team talks.

Just want to add my commiserations to Blackpool.  I am loving the way they are playing at the moment and would love for them to stay up.

Tony Mowbray is favourite with the bookies and supporters.
IMO We now enter nother false dawn scenario.
One thing about Gordon Strachan I will miss is his fabulous dry sense of humour, alas too intellectual for yer average lerkal scratter journalist, or indeed thicko fan. Unfortunately he seemed to be useless at motivating players and that's what counts.

Ferguson has confirmed at the press conference a few minutes ago that Rooney wants to leave, but Ferguson wants to keep the door open for him to remain. He also said that Rooney was stretchered off this morning at training with an ankle injury.

Apparently the initial offer of the extended contract was made at the time of the world cup and it speculated that Rooney had already decided he wanted to leave at that stage and this may explain his poor performance.

I just can't see the fans accepting him... my old man hates the fooker. Can't say that one wasnt about the money, by the sound of the offer Fergie had mensioned in the press conference... it had quite a hefty wage. The only club who could match that is us. I recon he will go Chelsea.
I still can't believe it Meaty, what a knob! It ain't like he's in the form of his life.
He told Fergie Aug 14th that he didn't want to sign a new contract. If it's all about the money, it's outrageous.

Once he puts a few goals away for ya, you'll accept him, just like Tevez. But I hope he goes abroad.

Not that my team is in the Premiership or is likely to be in the near future, however as well as attending football matches in the hope of some success one also goes to be entertained. I would rather Rooney stayed in this country so that we might watch his undoubted skill. If we keep losing players like him what do we have to look forward to? Stoke, Bolton, and Blackburn?

Hmm I dont hold much hope for Rooneys future.  He is too thick to realise that he was being made out to be "injured" for his own good and protect him.  Its something we have done a lot with players that are stalling on contract negotiations.

I am finding it hard to think of places he will go given his wages.  He doesnt strike me as the kind of player that will benefit from moving abroad into a different culture and language.  Also I would think United would be reluctant to sell him to Chelsea or City unless they desperately need the transfer money (if they needed it that badly why not sell this summer).  I guess maybe Chelsea is the most likely though.
