I was suprised that Brentford did so well against Everton as DM had put out an almost first team.
Mind you, the pitch at Griffin Park is a great leveller.
I really enjoyed the Arsenal game last night, astonished at the strong line up AW went with but it was worth it.

Afternoon everyone - actually where is everyone??

Tell me about it!
We went there last season and got totally turned over on an absolute bog of a pitch. The game shouldn't have even gone ahead imo.

Having seen Brentford once this season they looked a poor outfit, so surprised Everton couldn't get past them considering they got past a good Huddersfield team with ease.

Ha Ha my brother and his mate use the gym at this fancy hotel by the M6 motorway and they spotted Roberto Mancini, Brian Kidd and David Platt going towards the coach where the Man City players were on heading towards the Hawthorns.

Just got back... not surprised by the result, problem with City is we don't take these mid-table sides seriously. Don't know what Mancini is on at the moment, if your fielding the younger players then it looks like you don't give a crap about the carling cup. Yet in the last 10 mins Bobby looked desperate and sent on Milner, Zabaleta and Silva.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also gone out tonight. Theres going to be alot of fairly pissed off City fans out there now, the carling mickey mouse cup is the best chance we have of getting to wembley. Hell... even Hughes got us further Had we stayed in and took it seriously... there was a good chance we could well of been on our way to wembley.

Oh... and another thing, you would have to be a crack addict to start a back four of:

Vidal - Mee - Boyata - Cunningham

No experience or leader there... every one of them got pretty much skinned at some point in the game. All I can say is thank f*ck for Shay Given. At least every other team had a balance, Utd had Ferdinand in there & Chelsea had Terry.

Lack of experience.

P.S... I hate Rocky Santa Cruz.

Bugger! The one day I wanted Chelsea to win, they mess it up. That'll be my coupon down then.
Meanwhile does anyone know why the idiotic Lancastrians boo Ashley Cole? Perhaps Mr Pie will let us know later.

Just got back from the game, you know things are crap when the fans feel more confident facing Chelsea than Blackburn.

Ashley Cole didnt recieve boo's... only the odd one or two when the team was read out. The players who got an earful was Sturridge and Terry.

As much as I love seeing Newcastle lose, Stoke really are a wank football team that represent everything that's wrong with english football. It says something about Tony Pulis' mentality of the game when he picks Jon Walters over Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Pinch me, I'm dreaming!!  We are 6th, yes 6th in the Premier League!!  Yes, I know we have a long way to go it's only September, but on Soccer Saturday Sir Jeff said it was our best start in the top division since 1978/79 and the weather stopped us winning the league that season.  Now of course that isn't going to happen this season, too many really fantastic teams above us, but for a change we are holding our own in the Premier League.  I honestly can't believe it.  We really fought and fought on Saturday when Arsenal were all over us in the last 10 minutes or so and kept going.  Well done to Villa as well on Sunday.  I was listening to local radio on Saturday to the match as I was out and about driving and Tony Bomber Brown was going mad, he was over the moon for us.  I've just stopped smiling.  What a week it has been for the Baggies!!!!!

Seriously right. I always for some reason go to that fixture because it's nearby and we NEVER perform. It's not that they have always been better than us, we just don't turn up. But tonight we did and we got the rewards for it. Great win, up to 3rd. Hopefully we'll be going up this season.

It all started in the 8th minute when our central defender scored a free kick from 45 yards out.

We've just recently sold our freekick specialist to Reading as well (Ian Harte - also a defender), so couldn't believe my eyes when Lubo smashed that 1 in.

I hope you do. I might break my golden rule and adopt Carlisle as my second team I had a feeling City would do us again and they did. I hate them.

I saw two German games at the weekend, and I have to report that I think they have a better product than us. OK, on paper we may have better players, and maybe even the purists would say our standard of football is better. However, at Hannover v St Pauli on Friday night it cost me 15 euros. I was able to stand, and have conversations with friends without shouting in their ears. We could drink beer while watching, and I know none of my FMs smoke, but if they did then that was allowed too. The atmosphere was marvellous. (49,000)
Dortmund wasn't even a sell out, but there were approx 80,000 and it was a privilege to see 'em beat those cheating Bavarians.
