I'm quite surprised at some of the stuff I read surrounding Joey's 12 match ban. Apparently he has brought the game into disrepute or somehow blackened the name of football.

One wonders what punishment will be reserved for the people who charge us three times the going rate to watch, make us sit down, and charge the earth for crap beer, because they are so in debt to sponsors.

It looks like Jaaskelainen has decided to leave. I can't blame him really, he'd be second choice in the Championship when he could probably do a similar job (if not be first choice) for a bottom half Premier League club.

He's probably missed his chance at getting a top club though, given he struggles covering the top and bottom corners of his goal these days.

I noticed they'd been relegated from the Conference, but I hadn't seen anything about the extra demotions.

I remember roughly ten years ago when their Chairman talked about getting to the Premier League in five years and they tried to get Asprilla and Gascoigne. I don't know much about the situation but I'm guessing that guy had a lot to do with the start of the problems?

Yes! An ex safebreaker who learned new skills in gaol and subsequently became a chipboard millionaire decided to build an inappropriately sized and inappropriately situated white elephant stadium.

We're starting again in a groundshare with Shildon!

Credit to the board at Norwich though for not accepting his resignation. Bit poor when clubs at the end of the table that have actually looked good all season have their manager poached... Same applies for Swansea and Wigan. Both clubs just rolled over for Liverpool, what's the point of being in the league if you have no ambition? Dave Whelan was quite happy to let Martinez walk out and Swansea will probably now be relegated the following season Rodgers won't be able to take Liverpool to a level they want to be at either meaning he'll end up getting sacked. They're gonna have to fork out a sh*t load if they want to get back into the top four... Has it ever looked so strong? City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Liverpool all seem to be knocking about up there.

As for England... Henderson, Downing, Jones, Milner and Saint Scott Parker? Bet Xavi and Iniesta are really sh*tting themselves

I thought Lambert was holding out for the Liverpool job and when he didn't get it, threw his toys out of the pram because he didn't want to miss out on the Villa job.  You can't blame a manager for being ambitious but if Martin O'Neil left Villa because he wasn't given the funds then I can't see Lambert having a greater bargaining power to deliver the success that 'big club' Villa seem to think is their birthright. I can't see Lambert having the same goodwill that he'd have had at Norwich and Villa do like to chop and change their managers.

On the other hand, in the eyes of the football media, Villa are 'a massive club' and Norwich are 'a small club' even though in reality 26,500 at Norwich vs. 34,000 at Villa is hardly a massive gulf compared to Man U's 75,000.

Hodgson looks a right fool now, he said Ferdinand was left out for footballing reasons... now, he's called up Martin Kelly? Where's he supposed to play? CB?

He'll be crucified next press conference, he'll either have to completely backtrack on what he said or actually go on the record and say "I firmly believe Kelly is better than Ferdinand as a centre back".

Why were Darlington relegated four division?  I thought the FA only relegated clubs two divisions if they start up as a continuation.  What's going to happen to their white elephant stadium?  Average attendances must be barely out of double figures at that level?

As for the big club thing, it's one rule for the big 'uns! West Ham escaped a points deduction for Tevez.  Liverpool got into the champions league when they finished fifth but were former winners while Luton were docked 30 points (effectively relegating them in August) and then told they could not defend the Paint Pot trophy as holders when they dropped into the Conference.

I had just this moment switched channels and saw the Poland/Greece match when I saw the Polish goalkeeper fouling a Greek player. A straight red for the Polish goalkeeper and a penalty is awarded. Poland has to take off one of their players so that the replacement goalkeeper can come on. His first task is to face the penalty and he saves it.

Could well go down as the most dramatic moment in Euro 2012.
