You're club is doing exactly the same at the minute to get back into the top four

Liverpool are a selling club as well as a buying club, we have sold 9 player this transfer window and brought in 7, two of which were on frees, the other 5 accumulating about Β£57million. A far cry from what Man City are doing.

*Also 'You're' means 'you are' I think you meant 'your'.

Spurs done a fairly good job of it didn't they?

Rivals for the top spot are forced to go out and buy because City and Chelsea have forked out so much money on their team that its the only way they can compete. The sugar daddy clubs have ruined football and the sooner FFP comes in the better.

Spurs have also gone out and spent in the transfer window...

Modric, Gomes, Bent, Defoe, Krancjar, Crouch, Bassong etc... it actually goes up to around Β£70mil with the players they sold.

Yes, Liverpool were forced out because we came in and that is the only way we can compete... the same with any other club, no one can compete without the financial backing. It was the same years ago before either City or Chelsea came into money.

And if you think FFP will stop either club you're delusional.

You're just sour because your now in the position that we were in years ago... not able to compete with the big clubs because we were skint and any talent that popped up was dragged off by a big club.

MrMincePie

I do like the way fickle fans think... just think, two teams in one City, one has a rich owner who is pumping millions of pounds of his own money into the game and bringing some of the greatest players to walk this earth to the premier league, the other owner... has taken millions of pounds out of a club to pay off his own debt.

And which one is everyone more outraged at? The one pouring money into the game

If there is anything in the game that needs investigating... it's ticket pricing and the way some players are exploited.

yes mincey, i am an evertonian and really gutted about arteta

happy to see the back of the lazy yak and don't think moyes was ever gonna give beckford a chance so was good business to get Β£4m for him after signing him on a free transfer

i suppose, with arteta's injury record and age, its not a bad deal, but really didnt wanna see him go, hope the two new loan signing are as good as their hype

At least one of the tabloids had reported a day earlier that Chelsea failed to land him in a cash plus player bid.

But you've bought some of the biggest names in football including Downing (lerkal gadje) Henderson, and Adam, and, to a lesser extent, Carroll.

(I know you was jokin' us really)

*sigh*

have decided it was probably the right time for Arteta to leave, he hasnt really been his usual excellent self for about 18 months or so, couldnt really get a good run together without getting injured

I really do wish him well at Arsenal, I think he gave us his best years and I thank him for the great work he put in

just hoping the new guys are as good as they appear to be

on a happier note, glad we have offloaded the lazy tub of lard that is Yakubu

he is a good player when he wants to play, but he just doesnt want to play often enough

beckford, for some reason Moyes wouldnt give him a decent run, i think maybe he wasnt happy with him in training?  attitude?  who knows

On the BBC website

Southampton footballer Dan Seaborne has suffered serious head injuries in an attack outside a nightclub in the city.

Seaborne, 24, was found collapsed on the pavement outside Junk nightclub, London Road, in the early hours.

The defender, who signed from Exeter last year, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Hampshire Constabulary said he was found with "serious and potentially life-threatening" injuries and that two men, aged 35 and 29, had been arrested.

Southampton General Hospital said it was a "police matter" but that Seaborne was now in a serious but stable condition.

When Elmander left on a free, we were furious, because it was felt that the useless stump owed us something after spending about Β£20million on him in transfer fees plus wages for a minimal return. Gary Cahill doesn't owe us anything, he's been fantastic for 3 years. If he leaves on a free, I'll wish him well. The latest rumour is that we have the option to extend his contract for 12 months regardless though...
disley21

That's a nice attitude to have Disley re Cahill. I felt like that with Henry, even though we got money for him. It's great when a player leaves and. although you don't want to lose him, you can wish him well as you feel he's put in a shift for you.

Saw Jack Wilshere tweeting to/about Cahill, obviously still firm friends from his loan with you

Don't worry Meaty. When your fans get stabbed and some of them retaliate in self defence while trying to keep the vulnerable fans with them safe, Piers Morgan will be on hand to frame up you innocent English fans, conduct a media witch hunt against you and get you sacked from your jobs a la Arsenal in Copenhagen.

Good old Piers - what a prick prince
