£45 million I read, what will happen with Modric then because of these new financial rules coming into place?

Surely this signing would be instead of Modric?

As I understand it; Modric isn't for sale at any price!

Ali Al-Habsi has gone to Wigan for £4m. Bit of a shame to see him go as he didn't feature that much what with Jussi being so dependable, but when he did, he played well. Particularly against Bayern Munich in the Uefa Cup. Still, Jussi has got another season or two in him I think, and then Adam Bogdan will be more than ready to take over. So there's no room for Ali anymore.

Hold the front page! I've texted Tevez to inform him that Middlesbrough is nearer to Argentina. Meanwhile........ I enjoyed the U17 game against the Fatherland. 3-0 down, brought it back to 3-2 and sufficient chances to level.

Afternoon all xx

Be interesting to see what happens next season with City if Tevez leaves as he seems to be the heart of the team when he plays.

As for Clichy - good luck to him. He's had a couple of underpar seasons and made really costly errors but he's a good kid and always had the right attitude both on and off the pitch.

Disley, I really like Al Habsi (sp) and I'm glad he's gone to Wigan as I think he will do well there.

Right Ingerland Ladies later - they need to pull their fingers out and put in a good performance. I'm fed up of watching teams and players I love being pants.

C'mon the girls

Amongst the loonier end of our club alternative web site....................

The first two of the new arrivals will jet over from the troubled shores of Greece. For minimal fees, Tone has been able to release both Dennis Rommedahl and Papa Bouba Diop from their contracts at Olympiacos and AEK Athens respectively. TM was able to negotiate with both players from the comfort of his villa in Crete over the summer, where both players own property themselves. With the chaos surrounding Greece at the moment Romma and PBD both jumped at the chance to assist in Boro’s big promotion push next year.

...... and Thomas Radzinski.

Yep, me too, it's live on BBC2 at 5 I think. Should be a good game, the French Ladies are improving a lot, Lyon knocked us out of the Womens CL this year and looked a good side.

"Manchester City are ready to send Roque Santa Cruz to the Middle East.... to play for Al Jazira"

The club happens to be owned by our owner... Stick about a £70mil price tag on them and happy days.

So far so good for England Ladies - well at least we haven't conceded.

But we're playing too deep, Ellen White is on her own up front.

We can win this I think but we need to attack rather than concentrate on defending

What's this crack with short run ups for penalties? Like some just 1 step then hit. A short run up makes it 10 times more difficult to score a pen. If that's something the manager has told them to do to try and bamboozle the keeper then she needs her head examined.

Crunchy Nuts

So upset for Faye White. She's been such an awesome captain for both club and country, it was very cruel on her.

Crunchy, it wouldn't surprise me if  that idiot Powell had told them to take penalties like that - tactically inept is giving her too much credit. There's talk now that she will move on. I bloody well hope so. She has screwed up chance after chance with really poor decisions over the years. I reckon they will give it to Mo Marley if they can lure her from Everton. She seems the only female coach with much idea I'm sorry to say, and I can't see them giving the England job to a man. It would send out the wrong message about womens football

Good piece in the Daily Mail from Martin Samuel... basically saying that the Europes Elite/Big Clubs are sh*tting themselves and are looking for any rule we may of broken regarding FFPR.

Also, I agree with what Martin Samuel said regarding Tevez & Modric both wanting a way out of their current clubs... don't sign a 5 year contract. Both wanted the loyalty bonus and inflated wages but not the reality.

Surely "don't sign Tevez on a 5 year contract!" He had an excellent goal scoring record for city and won the prestigious FA Cup, however Joorabchian and Tevez are now getting ready to run rings around another club.

They have been talking about moving Tevez' family here though!

I have, they were posted on his twitter account... by the sound of it the club keeps giving them a bollocking for it, they continue to do it but after it they always say "Don't try this at home as..."

Joey Barton returned from an LA holiday and was then told he wasn't welcome in the USA as part of the Barcode too-ah. Meanwhile we welcome Murdoch with open arms. One assumes that the FBI discovered that Joey wished to subvert the American, media, government, and judiciary.

Aww Demantoid (((hugs)))

Is it the McLeish thing? I always think you can live with a player you hate but not a manager as they have so much say and power over a lot of stuff at the club

Well unless you work for Chelsea or that lunatic at Hearts.

I still can't believe Randy Lerner (sp) brought that pile of crap in. What the hell is he playing at? McLeish is a failure as a manager, the only reason he won the CC was because, as usual, our defence committed suicide.
