Good to see ole Baconface crapping himself again.

Over the last two or three years we have seen very wealthy owners become part of football clubs and therefore go on this kamikaze effort to spend their money," he said.

"It is amazing the amounts of money that are being bandied about in the present day game.

"Some people may think it could be dangerous. But if they have that kind of money, they are certainly using it.

"I don't see it abating. The kind of spending we are seeing at the moment will be here for two or three years, until such time as they understand you can't necessarily achieve all the time by spending."

Ireland is going to do well at Villa, as for Milner he will just have to get used to being rotated quite a bit at City...
I wouldnt say Ireland is going to do well... he may well be just as bad as he was for us last year. We currently play three defensive midfielders, I expect Milner will be starting each game.

I hope Ireland does well though.

Interesting game for WBA.
Absolutely Joe, a lot of fans are saying that our season starts tomorrow.  We have signed a striker Peter Odemwingie from Locomotiv Moscow on a 2 year deal for an undisclosed fee and subject to visa clearance he will play tomorrow.  First home game of the  new season and already a must win game ~ the pleasure of being in the Premier League!

William Gallas is set to sign for Tottenham from Arsenal.  Interesting decision for him to make, 'Arry seems to think there will be  no problem with the fans with the signing, but.... well we will see.

ION, Brett Pitman has failed to agree personal terms with Blackpool, seems a bit silly to me, the chance of Premier League football.. but he knows best and I'm sure that Bournemouth fans are happy to be keeping him.

Exeter announce there will be a minutes applause for Adam Stansfield at their match tomorrow.  He sadly lost his battle against cancer at the age of 31 last week.  Sir Jeff won't be able to say that Lisa will be proud when he scores any more, in fact he gave him a lovely tribute on Soccer Saturday last week.

SAF says there will be no more transfer activity at Man Utd this transfer window, hmmmmm

I will be watching the 'Boro match tomorrow

There won't be many of us there today but I understand that we will be joined in the North Stand by a joint group of American and Russian astronauts. They need to replicate a place with no atmosphere.  (The old ones are the best)
I'm not feeling very confident at al, our Scottish players seem too slow for the fourth most popular League in Europe.

I knew Odemwingie would be a bargain.
Darlo, he could be the player we have been searching for, on what I saw on MOTD last night.  I did tape our match off Football First last night (the joys of Sky+!), but am currently taping the Villa and 'Boro games for Mr Pink to watch later..honestly all that is on our Sky+ is football, oh! and the Emmerdale omnibus. So, so pleased with the team performance yesterday as after Chelsea we could have been really down so credit to Di Mat and his team for giving the players confidence.

Fingers crossed PB that this is now a positive turning corner for the Albion.
I'm always optimistic as you know Darlo, glass half full and all that, but from what I heard yesterday and what I saw on MOTD, I really think he could make a huge difference in the team as he can play wide as well.  I am cautiously optimistic.

Oh dear, Joey Barton is being interviewed on ESPN, he should be arrested for crimes against moustaches!!  Mr Pink said he reminds him of Litton from Life on Mars, I will have a look around and see if I can find a picture to compare (any excuse to look at pictures of Gene Hunt really!!)
