Prom, I seem to remember that Crunchy is Spanish (or his dad is or summat) In all the years I've been posting with him his attitude to Barca has been consistent.

As it happens I think that Crunchy is probably the most balanced person on the footy forum. He analyses teams without showing favour for his own teams mostly.

So there

I have very slight traces of Spanish (not catalonia by the way) in my family. Sometimes I used to exaggerate and say I was half spanish cos it impressed girls  but really I'm no where near half spanish, like I say just a slight trace a couple of generations up from me in my family.

The reason I'm probably quite balanced and unfavourable on this forum is because I'm probably the only person whose team isn't in the Premier League, so I'm neutral in most discussions

The ref agreed.  I'd like to see him score his 'amazing' goals against 11 players when one of them has him locked up tight, ain't gonna happen the same as if Messi came to the PL he wouldn't be scoring goals for fun we have VERY tight defences. I don't count Arsenal in this as Wenger has the same 'we're not worthy' attitude towards Barca as you have.

Man U haven't, and we haven't either. They're very beatable, just don't let them dictate the run of play and they don't know what the fekk to do. Their whole game revolves around getting the ball to Messi all the time. If that doesn't happen, they don't happen. Man U can beat them if they're up for it, or fail abysmally if they're not (they were terrible v Arsenal the other day).

Bit late this I know, but firstly, I never said Pepe wasn't doing a good job on Messi. I actually said Pepe is a very good player and apart from his moment of madness he had a good game in that first leg. But the simple facts are Manchester United do not have a player as good as Pepe to do a job like that on Messi - actually they do but he is always injured and has absolutely no chance of playing in that final.

Secondly, you talk about everything going through Messi as if he is the only player in the Barcelona team capable of hurting anyone. I know he was injured for the game we're talking about but what about Andres Iniesta? He was the main difference the last time Man United and Barcelona met. I seem to remember you once saying 'Messi is the only world class player Barcelona have'. That's fine if you think that but.... HOW? The rest of their team are made up of the team who won the last World Cup together (without Messi)

Firstly: CONGRATS MAN U FANS who post on here (all the other Man U fans can sod off) you were by far the better team today and indeed over the course of the season. Title well deserved when it comes.

Crunchy you talk about Man U not having a good enough midfield to deal with Barca assuming that Man U will sit back and let Barca come at them like everyone else does. They won't. You make it sound like the whole game will be played in midfield when both Barca and Man U break so fast it often bypasses the midfield completely (in the sense there is no static midfield so your assertion that this is where the game will be won or lost doesn't make sense to me).

Iniesta is a great player but Messi is the only player they have that can change a game all by himself. They are not unbeatable. Rooney can do the same and Man U have enough really strong attacking options to beat Barca if they come at them right from the off.

I'm not saying it will be easy for Man U or even that they have a good chance of winning I'm just saying it is by no means a foregone conclusion that the cheating tossers from Barcelona are going to win. Barcelona are a brilliant passing team with every player up for the game from the word go and that in itself makes them formidable but you just know they'll spend too much time rolling around the grass clutching their faces for that to be the deciding factor in the result.

It's a difficult game to call I just think Man U have every chance winning and I really hope they do.

Surely not

Seemed to me watching the game that Webb was under orders [from the FA] not to give a penalty and not to send anyone off!

Utd and Chelsea both could've had a penalty and Ivanovic should have been sent off for gross stupidity  (the ref warned him 3 or 4 times after he booked him) thankfully he cut it out in the 2nd half
