That's not what you did. You stuck a bid in and we said no thanks, he's NOT for sale. So you stuck another one in, and another one. And kept talking about him in the press as if he was already your player. And spoke to his agent behind the scenes, to the point where he is now unsettled and wants to go. We had no reason to want to sell him and certainly never offered him to you or anyone else - why would we? Randy Lerner has had plenty to say about your antics and I'd believe him over Bobby Manc any day. If you're serious, it's cash plus Stephen Ireland. Take it or leave it.
You really think Villa have a problem with selling him, we made an offer and the deal could have been done in the quiet and without the media knowing, but Villa decided to take it public...
Same old stuff...the only reason Villa have gone public is because they want to get the best price for Milner.
City try and sign a player, the player wants to go,the selling club make some outrageous tap up observation, the media go into self-righteous overdrive, the price goes higher, the player joins City, the press go into self-righteous overdrive.......ad infinitum.
We never talk about other players, its always been do not say anything publicly apart from "we do not conduct transfer business in the press". If Mancini has even mensioned Milner, then I expect he would of been told by Khaldoon not to do it again.
