A few questionable ones aside, I'd go for Adam and Wilshere.

They missed out PL top scorer Berbatov!!  Bale has only really performed in Europe, him, Nasri and VDV are all injured too much to get POTY. The discipline of Vidic and Adam leave a lot to be desired, from the list Tevez should get it but personally i think the player of the year is Van der Sar.

Young POTY, probabably Wilshire or Hernandez.

Nope  At 28 he still supports them, went to Uni in Manchester, goes to OT about a dozen times a season although he can't really afford it - and we argue about footie quite viciously a lot of the time. He will come and watch the Arsenal Ladies and reserves/babies though and support them!!

My cousin's an Arsenal fan, only one out of his family because the rest support United. Saw a guy in a Man City t-shirt when out shopping yesterday, so it looks like City are gaining fans who aren't from their area too.

Agreed!

I'll sit here and admit that as a child I was Man United through and through. David Beckham and Ryan Giggs were/are my footballing idols. But when I was about 17 I seen sense and realised that I was only a Manchester United 'fan', but really my loyalties were with the team from where I grew up. These days I live in Newcastle and I could quite easily walk 5 minutes and watch Premier League football every week, but I don't, I travel home to watch CUFC in League 1 because that's who I am, where I come from.

But at least your son goes to the matches at OT. A lot of people live miles away from places like Old Trafford, claim to be die hard 'United' through and through, yet never set foot in the place.

Evening Crunchy, congrats on the win mate. Carlisle had a good turn out with their fans, really good after the disappointment they suffered last year. Oh well, I'm just happy that Brentford have moved up to a bit of mid table mediocrity - it was looking ropey for a while. Still feel sorry for Andy Scott though, I thought he was doing an ok job and young managers need support not sacking.

As to the turncoat son (thanks Prom! ) he is a footie nut. Worked in the States at kids camps teaching footie as well as being a general counsellor, assisted the junior school footie team next door to his senior school when he was a 6th former and plays for a local pub team. When he was in Manchester at Uni he watched the reserves and junior Man U's when he could.

He's still a glory supporting traitor to us though

Agree about Scott. He turned them right round when they were relegated, brought them back up as L2 Champions and had them as a steady L1 club. Forster seems to be doing okay though.

As for us, well I disagree about our turnout for the final, I thought it was absolutely shocking for a cup final, only about half of the 25,000 we took to last years final. I hope the ones who didn't bother enjoyed watching us win from their local pub or front room! Brentford just didn't perform (apart from the number 7 Saunders). We played well in the first half but we were absolutely turd in the second half, largely down to our 2 best players having to go off just about crippled. But Brentford not even registering a shot on target was poor. We defended well but still, Brentford should have offered more. But at least they had a short journey home after defeat, unlike us last year!

"Do police actually arrest people for swearing on a Saturday night?" - Baconface

No, but if a bloke ran up to someone in a club and elbowed him in the face then they would be arrested for assault.

Watching these press conferences, its ridiculous how the media are scared to put questions to him incase he throws his toys out the pram and stops speaking to them. No other club does this, the guys a tool and needs a kick up the arse.

I'm not sure it's an exact science Mr Pie. I remember my favourite striker pushing someone in the face whilst forgetting that he had a pint of lager piss in his hand. Other footballers may have got away with assault and rape. No names no pack drill. If anything the beetroot faced fraud is going for the "everyone is against us, even though we are going to win everything, and are being allowed to operate with a world record debt!" technique. Or mebbees he is being dead dead ironic!

Caught glimpses of Chelseas game. Benayoun and Torres were linking up well... he's got to score soon, he had plenty of chances but didnt put it away.

Will watch the highlights for the other games later this evening on MOTD.

I agree about Torres, personally some of the criticism has been a bit harsh IMO of him but tbh think he needs more time to get used to the way Chelsea play and understanding his new team mates.. got faith he'll rediscover his best form at some point!

The 4th place race is certainly hotting up.

He cannot start v United, he has been dreadful. The Torres of old would have been banging them goals in for the craic but hes taking 2 seconds to think about think, and he has lost a yard of pace- which was his killer strength. Malouda and Drogba are coming back into form and Anelka is Chelsea's top CL scorer. Surely these 3 must start?

Bolton exceed expectations this season, done well. Noticed the players still play a bit like under Allardyce (where there was lots of criticism) but slighlty toned down and a change of style under Coyle has worked wonders...

He looks like a great player. Selfish, but that never hurt Lampard. I think he'll step into Malouda's shoes when he comes back. Zhirkov won't last at Chelsea, his best contributions have been diving for penalties (he's got two so far, good work that man!) but other than that he's a bit crap.

Afternoon all

Relieved to get 3 points on the board at last, we were very shaky at times during the game and Blackpool should have had at least one pen. We have had some atrocious decisions against us this season so we were due a break (or several). Just a shame that it was against Blackpool who are looking like they may well go down.

I see the Chelsea babies beat Man U 3-2 in the first leg of their FA Youth cup tie. Chelsea producing their own players - whatever is the world coming to?

United ahave always had a big fanbase in the South East going back to the 60's, I remember when they were relegated in the early 70's, they were still one of the most popular clubs in the playground. I know southern based United fans who go week in and week out all over the country, I also know people who  support Arsenal,Chelsea, West Ham etc that havent been to football matched all their life. What I don't understand as a football fan , is grown men walking round town centres with a football shirt at the time their team is play at home.

& I don't buy this "it's too hard to get a ticket lark"

Tottenham have never been my local club, I pass Charlton, Millwall & West Ham to get to WHL , doesn't this make me any less a supporter, in fact can any supporter claim they don't any other ground on the way to their team.
