Football is not watched by old ladies in between bingo evenings.

Lol

The problem seems to be the 'old ladies' governing football Prom

Here's to a good uncontroversial game tomorrow night

I hope it lives up to its billing muffy  It should be a fantastic game though neither of us will enjoy it because we'll be too tense

Prometheus

Well as a neutral I hope its chaos... red cards, dirty tackles, handbags, Torres goal, Ref making errors, coaches kicking off on the sidelines and a last min goal.

On another note, Adebayor ran riot for Madrid against Spurs... never seen him run so much. Didnt do much for us towards the end of his time here/ We are good at turning players crap Loan deals are sh*te... if a player is dreadful they send him back, if he turns out to be the next big thing they buy him out. What do we benefit from this? Its even worse if we are paying a share in the players wages. I can only understand a youngster going out on loan to get some experience.

Our eldest has a ticket to the semi at Wembley and we said exactly the same thing to each other.. Mrs Muf was flabbergasted. For years she'd been under mistaken impression that men watched footie cos we enjoy it

Not really. They use us as practise for "kettling" at the big protests

We should charge them for the privilege really

Barcelona have looked quite good without really getting into top gear. Fair play to Shakhtar though, they've had a decent go at them and got their goal. Should have had another too. Left themselves exposed a bit at the other end but at least they are threatening the Barcelona goal unlike Arsenal did.

if they could just grab another to make it 4-2 then you never know at their place!

Crunchy Nuts

5-1 is harsh on Shakhtar. Barca always look like scoring when they attack, but about 5mins ago Shakhtar hit the post, and have had a couple of other really good chances. Maybe they would have been better off defending deep and hoping to lose 1 or 2-0, but I like the fact that they've gone to the Nou Camp and had a right good go at them unlike a lot of teams.

Well, we were crap. Nailed on penalty denied though when Ramires was hacked down. 3rd official staring straight at it and didn't blink. At least old Sir Rednose can't bleat about Man U being cheated this time. I know how he hates injustice so I'm sure he'll be enraged and will challenge the 'incompetent' ref who didn't award Chelsea a penalty. Torres having no luck at all, brilliant header brilliantly saved. He must have been a bad boy in a previous life.

We have it all to do at OT now. If we play like that again we're out and deservedly so.

Prometheus

Man U rode their luck late on, but on the whole played a brilliant away game in Europe,

I thought  Chelsea would try to get at them more, seem to be over passing at times, but that could be United not given them the space, The first goal was always going to be important, It's not impossible for Chelsea, but United have a look about them at the moment, No one suddenly looks like they are going to boss them around, The early march blip seems to be over.

You're taking it a lot better than I would've if the boot had been on the other foot Prom

I wouldn't have complained at a draw.

After 9 years I think we must have been due a win at your spot

To be fair to Evra, he was probably delirious after catching the ball with his face earlier when he made the tackle

Ensign Muf

United weren't great and Chelsea were as bad.  Though VDS was player of the match. Lampard had a decent 1st half, Drogba was Chelsea best player, why the hell was he subbed? I'd say if he stayed on Chelsea would have got the goal. Torres dived twice once in each half and deserved his card. Ramires was a nailed on penalty. Chelsea can probably feel aggrieved at that but that aside United was the best of two bad teams. Also, Ryan Giggs at 37 year of age is just incredible.

You forgot the touch from Carrick too.

Chelsea were dominant in spells and it isn't over, not going to lie that i'm thrilled with a United win because we haven't won there since 2002!

Antonio Valencia going to right back was another decision that seemed baffling at first but worked.

Madrid vs Barca semi final then...

Two reasons for that mate. a) we've had our share of decisions against you in big games and b) for some reason I am always less furious about being denied a nailed on penalty when we played like crap anyway

Lol

At the end I think we had 6 attacking players on, 1 midfielder and 3 defenders(and I don't think Evra knew what day it was!)

I'm astounded that we managed to hold on

I think you did us a favour by taking Drogba off (though he looked pretty shagged tbh).. I bet he starts from the subs bench in the return at OT.

Anelka plays much better with Torres than Drogba does so I'm hoping Drogba doesn't start much as I love him. Our midfield is so static though I'm not sure it matters who we have up front. For them, urgency is just something that happens to other people

Evra is one of my favourite players by far but he looks in need of a rest. Awesome touch by Giggsy, got so much energy because age isn't catching up with him yet.

Torres hasn't hit the barndoor yet obviously at SB, but I do actually think he's trying his best and he will start clicking at Chelsea as he gets more used to the style and grows in confidence there..

Ramires is showing lots of potential, very impressed by him.

Our midfield is now too slow to play a lone striker unless we play hoofball which Drogba might get something out of but Torres would hate. We don't break fast enough any more for a lone striker to benefit. Lampard and Essien, both woeful for months now. They're not going anywhere so even a CL spot will be a huge bonus for me this season.

Ramires and Yossi can be the links from midfield, two up front isn't going to work unless its Drogba and Anelka, Torres has never played well as a second striker i.e Spain and Villa. He usually plays shit for Spain, but got MOM when he was up front on his own in Euro 08

Deliberate elbow 10 game ban. Swearing, nothing. My judgement. This is why I'll never get a job at the FA.

TBH if the FA want to bring in TV evidence the should, but it should be consistent!

Rooney was tried purely on TV evidence yet you can't use TV evidence if you are sent off after two yellows no-matter how unjust a decision
