hey darlo xxx............you're maybe too young to remember roger milla (sp) and cameroon in 86 i think it was?........the ivory coast have some good players.....even though as one tooooooo says the drog is out.........i reported earlier its a ponytail injury........very sad....

obviously i guess you're cheesed about rio darlo......but i really think saf may need to take stock of him.....he's only played a handful of games this year and keeps breaking down with injuries........

I'm not peed off about it, disappointed for Rio he only played with Vidic about 10/11 times this season and they are United's best CB pairing at the moment although the injury situation was bad... I think SAF will definetly bring in another defender at some point, however the midfield and strikers need sorting out first.
darloboy (Play The Game!)
i think defence maybe saf first port of call.........though evans looks a good player.......neville isn't getting any younger.......and ferdinand seems injury prone.......carrick has lost it i think.......below par season and very lucky to be at the w/c........fletcher is good.....scholes is cracking on and can't be going forever........utd were so dependant on rooney this season.....he had a cracking year.......but it's maintaining it........he can't be expected to do it year after year.........anderson may as well not be there but nani could flourish

i'm surprised they're sticking with berbs.....i'd ship him out to the first decent money.....but maybe that's saf arrogance......doesn't want to admit he's made a massive and expensive mistake

i think injuries are hard to call on.....we lost essien, carvalho, cech for a while...bosingwa,cashley....yet had the back up.........utd don't seem to have that at the moment...........i honestly think if rooney hadn't of been on fire for the season you'd of struggled.......it's hard on any team to lose the calibre of player like tevez and ronaldo....yet i still expected more of utd as a team........yet it became rooney utd almost..........

i do think there will be some big teams out early......and the african nation teams are catching up fast
I agree, it could be one of the African Countries this time. I'm not too bothered unless Germany got into the semis, then I would start gettting a bit of national pride. It's really just football, revered, but only a game after all.

What I've seen of German football over the last year, I don't think they stand a chance. My problem is that as long as Germany are still in, I have to shout for them, once they're gone, I'll fling myself on the English side
Ah! We cancel each other out. I normally shout for England until they are gone and then fling myself at the German side, or France.

Should be interesting this year. If all goes as planned England play France in the last eight whilst Germany may beat Argentina on penalties.

Afternoon all. I've put another note in the feedback thread about the problems in here, can everyone post in that if they are having problems so that Lori can see. Thanks

Oh and Japan - Step away from the Wenger, you can't have him
FM
How much did you pay for him Meaty? I can't find details of the price anywhere.
ION there are rumours that Liverpool want Arry the Hoover. Can't see that happening tbh, him going to a club with no money and no CL when he has both at Spurs.
Plus he's been offered 15 mill to manage some pissant club with rich owners in the Middle East

Evening Darlo
The rumours drive you mad at this time of year, bloody media. Japan are apparently targetting AW to manage them when his contract expires at the end of next season.
I honestly think he will go  The level of disrespect from some Arsenal fans is shocking. But then they have probably only been fans for five minutes.
I hope we can hold onto Cesc and buy a decent keeper and a big aggressive defender for starters but I trust AW to know what is right for us

ÂĢ11mil, bargain there... my brother went over to coms today and met him, said he managed to just get a photo before he went inside

Blimey that is cheap - bit of good business for you. It'll be interesting to see if you play the asking price for Milner - rumours are that you won't go above 25 mill.

Morning everyone

Thanks hun   5 years and counting!!  We had a lovely day yesterday, went out last night and had a few (!) drinks and I didn't hear the thunderstorm that crossed the Midlands last night due to that (thank goodness)

Thought of you today when I read the rumour about Monsieur Venger and Japan, hope he stays with you.

Darlo, good luck for July BTW, hope you do well.

Morning everyone
Glad you had a great day Pinky, many more to you both.
I so enjoyed the Soccer aid match yesterday. really fun and engrossing. But the penalties
Typical England, couldn't get 3 or 4 of them even on target.
But on the good side, AW will have a serious look at signing Theakston or Kielty after their performances yesterday. After all they are better than Coco and Flappy!!

Just watched the second half as well (thanks Mr Pink for telling me it was on SSN) and I was not particularly impressed.....  But I still hope that we can have better performances starting Saturday.

Does anyone happen to know if the Rooney booking will affect him during the actual tournament or as it is a friendly then will the booking not count?  I just wish he would learn  a little common sense and not tackle in that fashion.

Players are dropping like flies at the moment due to injury though, the latest being Diego Forlan who was injured during a training session.  Drogba has had an operation on his fractured arm and the Ivory Coast hope he can take part during the tournament, although possibly not the first match.

Colour me stunned that he isn't as injured as first reported

Truthfully Pinky, I'd be happy for every single Arsenal player there to pick up an injury this week that will rule them out for 3 weeks.
So fed up of our players picking up injuries on international duty that rule them out for virtually the whole season.

I'm surprised to learn that Disley
Son (Man U supporter) and I were having quite a heated discussion about Rooney last night. He obviously thinks Rooney can do no wrong. I can't stand the twonk (Rooney that is not the son although.....!)
One of the reasons I thnk that Rooney may have been behaving a bit better until recently is that I think he, along with the other England players, knew that Capello had the upper hand and so had to watch himself.
But he has known over the last few games that Capello would not dare to drop him because the backlash from the media and fans would be astonishing and so he is back to his customary arrogant self.
There is a really good debate on one of the blogs on the beeb footie site on Rooney at the mo
