Makes that decision of Fabios to choose Heskey over Bent even more of a corker!
Drogba probably out as well with a broken ulna - of course knowing Drogba it may be a slightly bent fingernail rather than a broken arm

So Rio Ferdinand is injured....gives Dawson a chance to get out there hopefully

Re injured players :  According to SSN, players can be brought in up to 24 hours before the first match.  Love the comment regarding Drogba have to agree though, he is a good player.. he doesn't need all the nonsense around him.

drogba's injury is very serious.......i have it on good authority......my mate knows a waitress at the ivory coasts team hotel...apparently it's a double injury......the drog overloaded his plate with food causing his arm to snap and hang off...he is deemed fit to play in the table tennis championship team morale tournament tomorrow though.......secondly he pulled his ponytail too tight and it severely damaged his head......no one knows how long he'll be out as ponytail injuries are hard to assess.......

as harsh as it may sound i'm not too bothered about rio......i've never rated him.....even when he was a youngster on loan down here......and it was always a gamble taking him when he's only played something like 13 league games all season......i think dawson should've gone in the first place..

I've got exams in July PB. I agree that the 4-5-1 system will benefit Albion as players in the middle will track back to help the defence and some support on the wings for the attack. I'm positive about the Baggie's chances too although Ishmael Miller is a promising player, he's really frustrating to watch.

I can't believe that Ferdinand was injured by a fellow English player a week before the world cup.

What I've seen of German football over the last year, I don't think they stand a chance. My problem is that as long as Germany are still in, I have to shout for them, once they're gone, I'll fling myself on the English side (or Scotts when they are there).

the germans are always very dogged though cologne.......may not play pretty football sometimes but still sneak results......

i do think there will be some big teams out early......and the african nation teams are catching up fast.....some good players in their squads..
