, Luis Antonio Valencia is not a dirty player at all.
He didn't mean dirty, he meant diver.

Thing is, Valencia never dived. Yeah it wasn't a pen because it was outside the box in the first place, but he was fouled, Valencia stumbled and went down. He had every right to. I think he should be praised for stumbling and trying to stay on his feet until he eventually fell.
But then again in a way if a player is fouled and he stays on his feet and gets nothing, I think the player deserves to be dropped for such stupidity. So it works 2 ways really

It didnt look a dive to me either, mascherano is so effing over rated, hes currently made 54 fouls this season and is a class A nob.  The plank grabbed Valencias arm and it looked like he was spinning round, was bound to go down to ground. As for Rafa calling people divers, he should really take a look at his own players... il never forget that N'Gog dive. Rafa, Wenger and Fergie should both take notes from Roy Hodgson, Hodgson was asked about a penalty he should of had against us but he even admitted the ref would of had a difficult decision to make from so far away.

It was the force of the tug that eventually sent Valencia eventually falling down in the area even though Mascherano got him from just outside but Valencia was clear through on goal and Masch decided to stop him.. Antonio is a honest player and for him to be labelled a diver by Benitez is pathetic, especially after he justified N'Gog against Birmingham.

Anyway was a good win but more pressure now for in Rafa we don't trust.

Fingers crossed next week for Newcastle against Forest.

Agree about Valencia, but also Benitez was right to justify N'Gog against Birmingham. Sorry Darlo, but anyone who plays football should know that N'Gog's reaction was totally natural. Carsley (i think it was) came sliding in like a maniac, no where near the ball. N'Gog simply got out of the way to make sure he wasn't snapped in half by the idiots lunge. If he hadn't have dived then N'gog certainly would have been fouled and almost certainly would have been seriously injured. Definite penalty even though there was no contact, which seems crazy to some but believe it or not there doesn't always have to be contact for it to be a foul, if the player is going over to avoid being seriously injured by a lunatic idiots crazy challenge.

It could be worse. It could be Sky.
I think their coverage is superior to that of BBC and ITV. By coverage I mean commentary on the games. (it's not great though).

Having said that, Phil Thompson's statement last week about Messi 'not even having a good season' so shouldn't be compared to Rooney was highly amusing and ignorant.

The best 1 from the BBC was Motson saying in Euro 2008 that Ruud Van Nistelrooy has vanished into obscurity since leaving United, despite him being top scorer in La Liga that season. Another good one was Lee Dixon commenting a few days after Arsenal against Roma saying Totti was so bad that you wouldn't have even known he was playing... errr because he wasn't playing Lee He blatently hadn't watched a game that he was supposed to be commenting about on football focus 3 days later.

Oh and I love how the British pundits totally don't even mention Cristiano Ronaldo anymore when talking about the best players in the world. As soon as he leaves the Premier League he's not in the same class as Rooney anymore

There are some classics.

Real Madrid aren't in the senior competition, they play in a weak league. Portugal struggled to get to the finals. How shall we measure his ability?

Who says it's a weak league? The british pundits who cream themselves over thee Premier League every week, that's who. Ignorance! If each team from La Liga played a match on neutral territory with the team in the same league position of the Premier League, I'd say it'd pretty much be even in terms of wins for each league. Are you telling me that Cristiano Ronaldo has lost all his ability over the space of the summer? He's scored goals for fun in that 'senior' competition this season.
It's what I absolutely despise with a passion about the so called football experts in this country. They are so bloody ignorant and dismissive about anything non-Premier League.

Another example is about a week ago Inter were a poor team who have no chance of winning the big prize. Now all of a sudden they beat Chelsea, Sneijder is a world class midfielder (which he always was anyway), they are a class team with a huge chance of winning the CL and they are littered with players 'who should be playing in the Premier League'.
It's just like, they form these opinions of the european leagues and teams based on absolutely nothing because most of them don't even bother watching anything non-premier league, then as soon as they knock out one of our sides, said team are a fantastic team with fantastic players for about a month or something. It's crap.

LOL they are fickle as ever, still hope Ronaldo does well, apart from if England get Portugal at some stage in the World Cup.

These same pundits said United would struggle a lot without Ronaldo and not win anything but we've actually scored more goals this season now without him due to Rooney becoming the main man which he enjoys and the other players having the freedom to chip in and praising us now they've been proved wrong like it never happened.

Even we all could do the job as a pundit.
