Naturally West Ham immediately make it 2-0... I'm gonna shut up now...

Just interested in anyone's views that on Tuesday there was a lady referee at the Coventry match. Me, I think it is a good thing, more women getting involved in football can only be a good thing.
Does David Moyes have Chelsea worked out? Will any other side score 5 goals against Chelsea in their 2 prem fixtures this season?
JT's performance last night is alongside Gael Clichy's against Manchester United as the worst defensive performance of the season by an absolute mile.
The FA have asked Kevin Davies to explain his comments about Mark Clattenburg after he disallowed that perfectly good goal on Saturday.
This is my problem with the respect campaign, the referee will get away with a shockingly poor decision, but because Davies expresses bemusement at it, he potentially gets punished, so in effect the club would be punished twice because of the ineptitude of the referee...

Indeed! A great shame. Maybe all the claptrap from the press and abuse from the crowd has finally started to get him down. I hope he has a good rest and comes back to lift a domestic trophy.
he's flown out today to dubai to talk to his wife..you'd have to be pretty much made of stone for that to be on your mind and not affect you........i think he's done well in the 3 games prior to last night though......he didn't hide....he went out and played...........it'll soon be fish and chip paper...
Hopefully! I really do hate Chelsea but "My enemy's enemy..." and all that. I still can't believe that we allowed a foreign owned scratsheet interfere with our football team. Someone on Facebook told me to Deal with it. I can't!
i honestly do think it's a mistake to sack him as england captain.......and that's not just cos i'm a chelsea supporter..........
the decision was meant to be on footballing grounds only according to capello......who then said terry's behaviour on the field was magnificent etc etc.......then sacked him....
imo it was media pressure......i don't buy all this but the players wouldn't respect him crap.....half of em are doing the same thing anyway!...he'll still be in the dressing room mixing with the same players....and if bridgey thinks whining he's not sure he can be in the same dressing room as jt.. is going to make capello think 'i'll take wayne bridge to south africa but not john terry' he's off his box...

It is worrying that our second best LB in england is Wayne Bridge

Hi all
Footie news all over the place! Ashley Cole out for 3 months apparently - although we all know how Chelsea love to exaggerate their injuries. Giggs out at Man U for 4 weeks too.
Sven has also resigned as Director of Football at Notts County. I could never really get my head around him being there in the first place - very strange.
Most perplexing news of the day for me is that our newish Ladies Manager Tony Gervase has today been replaced by a woman!! There is no explanation on the Arsenal website only the news that he will continue as Academy Director. Very very strange.
Congrats to Pinky and the other Baggies fans on here Top of the League eh?

Wonder how much the USA Soccer Association slipped into Landon Donavan's bank account for him to do that then...
Who's next? Rooney? Walcott? Barry?

Happens every time Crunchy. A twin pronged attack by the press seeking sexual angles and players knacking our stars. It has already been done to Rooney and Beckham in previous competitions. The only way is to fight fire with fire. Take out Tevez, Torres, and Ballack now!! Noooooo not Tevez
A fair point Hopefully they will get drawn against Germany at some point. I lurve Germany v Argentina games.

Huge congrats to the Leeds Carnegie Ladies who won the League Cup yesterday beating the mighty Everton Ladies.
Their England striker Ellen White scored a brace, she is a serious talent. She scored a brilliant goal against us last Sunday. It's such a shame that the Leeds team will fold when the Superleague starts

hi veggie - did a post to you on your FB after your fine win the other night
Hi La Veggie and Barney. Hope your respective teams do ok this weekend.
Cup weekend for us, nice break from league worries, but I honestly wouldn't be upset if we were knocked out tomorrow. I would really prefer to concentrate on the league and maintain our place there.
Jason Koumas is being linked with us again. Mixed feelings about that one, very good player when he wants, and can be a match winner, but I still can't forget the nonsense when he was on loan a couple of seasons back.

Hi Pink You'll be hoping that the Jacks and their female physio beat the barcodes tomorrow? Meanwhile we play the mighty Peterborough-a potential banana skin if ever I saw one.
Just been looking at the fixtures and in particular the FA Cup. There isn't a single team left in there that I'm interested in.
Hi Joe, I certainly hope they do!!
As to the cup ~ the Baggies are still there!! Seriously I don't want a cup run!! I kept saying this in 2008 as well and we got to the semi finals that year ~ must learn to keep my mouth shut

Well naturally I'd be pleased for you if they progressed.
Thanks Joe and good luck for tomorrow.

I very much doubt it - but you never know!

We'll see Strikey. What a relief last minute equaliser from WBA away against Reading, Notts Forest lost again and Newcastle drawed back to the league so next match against the Bluebirds is vital if they want to take advantage.
Zabaleta and Toure...
Don't think I really need to say any more than that. Half the team couldnt be arsed tonight... but these two can't be arsed every game.

I watched the match on the telly Meaty. I thought that Zabaleta was very poor, particularly with his passing. Toure seemed ok to me, he's past his best but still was trying to motivate the team and get them going.
He's no leader IMO, he doesnt contribute to anything and looks very uncomfortable at the back, I think the biggest mistake the club made was getting rid of Dunney, he had his errors but at least he wanted to play for us, not take a back seat after 10 mins, he was a fan favourite and he was treated poorly by the club. It didnt look like any player had done his homework tonight... we kept booting it out for a throw in our half when everyone fully knows delap has the most dangerous throw in the EPL, I rather they just gave a corner tbh. I can't be arsed ranting about playing one up front either, its never worked before for us and it never will...

Usually served in 90 minute spells. Seriously though, i think it was a progressive move getting rid of Dunne (out with the old etc...)... and City are still well placed for that final Champs League spot.
I agree. Richard Dunne was an absolute liability at times for City. I've never rated him and still don't. Lescott, Kompany, Richards and Toure are all on a higher level of quality to Dunne.
Just want to say that Ian Harte is absolutely class, both defensively and attacking-wise. He got his 12th goal of season today. aMazing for a central defender. He'll end up with 20 goals this season.
Well that was a perfect Saturday. We beat the mighty Peterborough. The bookies gave Middlesbrough Win/Win @ 5/4, I backed three winners, and we nearly finished the Grauniad crossword while drinking a surfeit of Jacobs Creek sparkling Char/Pinot Noir.
