Well done to Man City, just seen MOTD they were impressive but Wolves played some decent stuff so can take positives.
Chelsea as expected won, missed half of the afternoon kick offs due to shopping.
And what a way to start the New Year for Spurs back in the top 4.

Toon were shocking second half!
Belated merry Xmas to footie fans.
No football for Norwich today as (presumably) the Walsall ground was unfit. League One, eh? Anyway, Charlton's draw puts them just 3 points ahead with an inferior goal difference and having played one more. One more win and City will be second!

I know a very happy Baggies fan, Newcastle don't have to worry it's the Albion who need to with Nottingham Forest so close.
Them poor Norwich fans turning up to Walsall and the game called off due to a frozen pitch.

LOL. They still should've won that 2-1 or 2-0
The twists and the turns are great more than ever this season.

We'll still come out on top (hopefully)......it still frightens me that we'll not be able to cut it in the Premier again though
Oh you'll be fine once back up hopefully, decent side and will attract more players wanting to play at the top level.

I guess so.............kids coming on and all that
You've managed to keep quite a lot of the side from last season because they are obviously happy at St James' Park and knew that there was a high possibility you would be back up at the first time of asking so stayed around.
Some of the younger players like Andy Carroll look very promising..

Hey Muf, I hope Fergie is bluffing about not wanting to buy and tries to look for another striker.
Ooh I like those players Onetoo they've done ok here but obviously much suited to the slower style in Spain.

it's the Gunners that need to be on the lookout if ya ask me, but hey....they seem to be putting them in the back of the net
Like I said.......peeps 'hacking it' in the Premier

Awwwwwwwwwww
United need more creativity up front though the Gunners are more than enough good upfront, theres a Cristiano Ronaldo sized gap which will take time to fill still the team is doing all they can without him which is all you can do
I don't mind Fabregas but I think Andrey Arshavin is a much more quality player and soooo underrated.

Isn't that down to midfield though? strikers are only there to recieve and stick the ball in the back of the net. that said...........they still have to be in right place/right time
Our midfield is doing a decent job trying to create things for the strikers to try to bang the goals in but theres just that something missing there in terms of creativity for me at the minute with the current United team in the attacking department but all you can do is trust and keep faith in the players.

Would that be me Darlo?? If so you are right. Forest are a big worry though, they really are playing well.Bad luck Wolves last night, played well and created chances.
Afternoon all
La Veggie, Maggie and Deman, as a neutral I'm hoping for a good match tonight, but if pressed as a Midlands footy fan (with the exception of Blues!!), would like a sneaky 3 points for Villa. Will be watching with interest. Liverpool are not playing that well at the moment and Villa should take advantage of this. For some reason I thought it was Villa Arsenal tonight!
Yesterday was another good 3 points for us, more goals scored (highest amount of goals scored in the top 2 divisions!) and a little breathing space between us and Forest and a little back on Newcastle.
We play both teams in the return fixtures next month and I have a feeling that this will make or break our season, both matches are on Sky as well and we do not usually play well on Sky. All in all though, pleased with the points total over Christmas this year and signed off 2009 with a win, which is good.
Good luck to my fellow Championship FM's next year (apart from when you play us!!)
Was Walsall's match called off late yesterday? I saw some rather unhappy looking Norwich fans around West Brom yesterday afternoon? Strange that, as the Hawthorns is not that far from the Bescot and we played on Boxing Day, no problems at all.

Banks', I struggled to call it that when it weas first changed.Poor VDS wife, hope she gets better.
Villa vs Liverpool game will be good.
went to the match yesterday........we were pants.......we didn't deserve to win and why ancelotti decided to 'rest' ashley cole and ivanovic was a mystery...
the win only papers over the cracks and we're wobbling badly......all the talk of missing the players going to the african nations cup is carp......the only ones we'll miss are essien and the drog.........kalou and mikel might as well have gone last week they were that hopeless yesterday.

Hey Spongey
Chelsea as expected won, I knew you would claw it back. Drogba etc will be a miss of course but the squad has enough quality to cope plus i'm still certain the title is heading to Stamford Bridge.
I've heard Branislav Ivanovic is interesting Real Madrid?
hey darlo xxx..........hope you had a good christmas?.....
ivanovic is a good player....not sure when bosingwa is back from injury ..i wonder if he'll keep his place when he returns.......if not he may well be interested in a move..
hopefully anelka will be back soon..........cos i just can't see where a goal is coming from..so many players are out of form.......ballack was dreadful yesterday but he wasn't the only one....it really was a poor performance....fulham can count themselves very unlucky.
there's no way we'll win the title if we carry on like this.......god only knows what's gone wrong in the space of a few short weeks

Christmas was alright it's usually boring.
Ancelotti certainly doesn't think he needs to go into the transfer market because he trusts the players so good on him in that sense. Fulham played really well and how unlucky for that kid and they really deserved to win us.
Lol you're problems not that bad we've had an injury ravaged defence but theres always difficult things that happen along the line to everyone. I'm sure that Chelsea will soon be back in top form.

Preston North End sacked Alan Irvine. Teams have no patience.
i never ever believe managers when they say they're not going to buy.........cos they usually do!!!
was reading about vds' wife......blimey that's a shock.....hopefully she'll get better soon
