Glad Inter Milan and Barcelona made it.

Couldn't care less about Inter. As far as that great italian city goes I'm Milan all the way. Inter mean nothing to me.
But like you I'm glad Barca are through and more importantly I'm glad they won the group. The prospect of Man Utd Barca in the second round was worrying as it would have almost certainly meant an early exit for Man United. But luckily Leo Messi got the winner.

I'm the opposite of course like Inter but couldn't care about AC Milan.

Could have been an early exit for us but sometimes games are decided by how you play on the day, they certainly were better in the final and we rode our luck in the semi final which we won in the second leg but they're the best side but at the moment a dip out of form for them...

Not worried about our loss tonight, it was more about seeing how the babies played and handled the pressure. I thought they did well and it was a pleasure to see them somewhere other than Underhill.
Still not too clinical in front of goal though, missed opportunity for Vela I think.
Btw Darlo, no one calls him Tom Cruise, it's always Thomas!!

Just found the footie thread.

RIP Norfolk club, King's Lynn FC who folded today.

You may say "who gives a fiddly about them?  I've never heard of them" but it's still the football club of a town who were one of the biggest clubs in non-league footie and who had ambitions (or pipe dreams) of League football.

King's Lynn FC were well over 100 years old and preceded Norwich City FC and founded the Norfolk FA.  In recent seasons they progressed up the non-league pyramid with ambitions of League or Conference football and certainly had the fan-base for it. Anyway, ambition got ahead of income (similar to Hornchurch FC a few years ago) and they folded today.

RIP Kings Lynn FC

RIP Kings Lynn, saw that on SSN this morning.

And good luck to any other non league club in this situation, I am thinking especially of Halesowen Town here (The Yeltz) proud history in non league football and winners of the FA trophy in 1985 and 1986, currently on the edge of administration, and RIP Oldbury United, a non league club sadly who have gone the same way as Kings Lynn.

With all the amounts of money spent in the top two leagues, it seems a shame that no one ever thinks about their local non league side.

I do! I have followed my home town club (Not Darlo or the 'Boro)  on and off, through wind and rain to all sorts of little clubs, and have delighted in the warm welcomes.

Crossy, your comment about has hit the nail on the head!  You do get a warm welcome at non league football and very often can see an excellent match, the same if you go to watch park football at the weekend, I very often stop and watch a match on a Sunday morning when walking Roxy (she is glad of the rest!! -idle dog) and can be as entertained more than going to the Hawthorns and paying upwards of 40.00 to watch the match.  My days of standing on the touchline, cheering on a boyfriend and then having the pleasure of washing his kit have long gone!!

Just when will the FA realise that non league football is the life blood of the game, and that league clubs should help more, especially in the PL and Championship, there are some very wealthy clubs out there, who could quite easily help struggling clubs and don't.  The Baggies ladies used to play at Oldbury United, until the purpose build centre opened, they could have carried on at Oldbury and gave the club some much needed financial support, but chose not to, every season we play a friendly at Halesowen, Bromsgrove and teams like that and it does help to provide some income, but not enough.  When the top division teams moan about going to non league clubs in the Cup it makes my blood boil, that one fixture alone could keep them going all season (Scarborough a few years back comes to mind), I feel sorry for the fans of Kings Lynn who must be feeling very disillusioned this morning and hope that they can find a way back like Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon, who have made it to the Conference League and could make it into League 2 next season, they are currently 6th in the Conference, in a play off position.

The Conference website - makes interesting reading.

Rumours that Robbie Keane may go on loan to Celtic
He's a Bhoys fan isn't he or was it Liverpool?, could happen at some point but for now I think he might stay with Spurs for a couple more seasons as they're in the middle of yet antoher european push.

It must be fate because I always used to sign him when playing as Celtic on FIFA on the Playstation.

Spurs would still pay some of his wages if he went on loan.
probaly, your right, what a state  football is in, if you loan a player out, to a club that gets double your crowd, gets into the C/L most seasons, yet you continue to pay the wages,  I know Chelsea did it with Crespo for years, and Leeds with Fowler,

Disley, I think this is finally the make or break weekend for Megson, I really can't see him hanging on if they lose to City.

mentioned it further back. The curse of the tellybox.
we suffer with the late Sunday Sky game when we are away, although, I could say any away game, when it's nowt to do with Sky , it  just never seems to happen for us, also we have the curse of Gareth Bale   It's bad enough when another club or player of another club has the indian sign over you, but when it's one of your own players

gotta feel sorry for Dean Ashton. He definately had talent and could have been a regular in the england squads for years to come. He was kind of like a young Sheringham I thought.
Such a shame having to retire at only 26 years old, but then again I bet there are millions of people in the world who would swap places with him and have a top level football career that only lasted til 26 than no football career at all.
