With all due apologies to you Darlo, I would like them to go through. Nothing annoys Platini more than lots of our clubs (and Chelsea) getting through to the last four. Hope that I haven't offended you
I agree... I do hope all the English teams do well in europe to pee off Platini and co but for Liverpool they have to rely on Lyon to keep them in so it could go either way but i'm sure they will win their match. Although if that was us they would hope we would not go through.

Rafa trying to justify not being in the Champions League any more.  Not my most favourite of teams and I can't stand Gerrard, but with their history in CL, still sad to see them knocked out as they are an English team and it's always good to see them do well in Europe.   to all Liverpool fans today.

Well done Arsenal, top of the group and a good first half performance, went to bed at half time so can't comment for the rest - still getting over this bloody flu!!

Good luck to Chelsea and Man Utd tonight.

We are trialling a Canadian U21 player for 4 days, quite what Di Mat can see in 4 days I do not know!!

That was a stinker of a result for Darlo last night Joe, and watched by only 1600 people. Not looking good at all, to think last season they spent time in the top 3.
They seem cursed to me at the moment.

Thanks for the run down on Forest joe, after a dodgy start, they certainly don't look like they will be fighting relegation again this season,

Hey Pinky
Thanks for that, I can always do with a bit of the boss ( I won;t say which bit ) I got a letter off him yesterday actually!!
Just off to get my mates kids to take them to watch our babies play the Villa babies tonight. I'm quite excited as we have Jay Emmanuel Thomas back from his loan at Blackpool and Super Jack Wilshere is pencilled in for a run out tonight so it should be goot.
You should get the Baggies to grab Jay ET if he goes on loan again

Liverpool are lucky they got Europa League football when we finished bottom of our group a couple of seasons ago we got deservedly nothing because thats how things went... It's a shame but they got to stick with Benitez,  there is some stale players though.

Not going to lie it did make me smile. They would have done the same if it was us going out.

Good luck to Chelski and Man Utd tonight.

Ooh Nicky Shorey has joined the Forest on loan from Villa.

Exciting game that will be Villa vs Spurs.

Shame things not worked out for Shorey Deman but if he would have stayed he would have just been cover for Stephen Warnock.

Sympathy with Paul Hart about Portsmouth, he tried his best under difficult cirucmstances but the Pompey players got to take responsibility also but it looks like Avram Grant will be taking over...

We've reached two Finals, winning one of them. We've reached a semi final and another quarter final, each time losing to the richest team in Europe with a squad put together with no expense spared; in complete contrast to the budget Rafa's had to work to.

In this season of poor form, injuries and having the financial rug pulled from underneath the manager, meaning he couldn't replace the striker he lost in January etc - we've dropped out in the Group stages for the first time in his tenure.

Now people want him sacked for it? Absolute effing madness!

Because of what Rafael Benitez has done to the club, fans have now become like spoilt little brats. He's given them something they couldn't have dreamt about 5 years ago, but now they want more. Greed, greed and more greed.

There is no denying you have done great in Europe but in the league which most of the Kop want to win, still nowhere even close to doing it and every year we get it's Liverpools year but it hasn't come to fruition...

Benitez has done a good job, some people should back off and keep the faith but he has brought lots of players in so it's not as if it's all gone wrong. Having to depend on Lyon this isn't what Liverpool are about?. I like crazy Benitez, did see quite a few Valencia games but theres lots of hard work to do and even if they replaced him with someone else there would still be the same problems to sort out...
darloboy (Play The Game!)
People need to take a step back, look at who we're competing with, and try to realise the size of the task we've got. We've massively overachieved over the past few years, mainly due to his brilliant signings (although they are ignored so people can criticise free transfers like Voronin - also ignoring the fact he's only still at the club as the money Rafa had lined up for a new striker was taken out of his pocket in the summer).

In The League, we're now competing with Chelsea, United, Man City and Tottenham; all of whom have assembled a more expensive squad than our own and have a higher wage bill than ourselves. Aston Villa and Arsenal aren't far behind.

Man City and Tottenham have been under acheiving due to poor management and under performing players in recent years; ourselves and Arsenal have been over achieving - mainly due to good management. United and Chelsea are doing what's expected of them.

Not only do people expect us to win The League with the 5th most expensive squad and 5th highest wage bill, but they also expect us to win The European Cup as well.

Not asking much is it!!!
