Morning Pinky. The championship is proving to be as inconsistant as ever, good for any football fan that don't support a championship team I suppose.
Moin footie fans xx
How ironic! It was the gates that did for Southgate in the end. Only 17k last night. I set off at 7:45 and only missed five minutes. They're talking about Keegan now. :nails:
What a strange division though. We are one point off the top.
Good morning footie fans
PinkBabe....What a disaster last night....Still top of the pile but we needed to win

in reference to Southgate. When the owner says the manager has his 100% support, thats the time to start packing

TBF The time to start packing was last season. Southgate was a great player at our club but management was a step too far. They should have poached that Irish bloke off Wolves, he is proven at this level.

Southgate did dive in too quickly...or he was pushed in too quickly, he didn't have much experience, nice bloke and all that, but...Reference:Joe

Welcome to the Championship Joe!!!Afternoon football people,
Moonie, we needed the win last night, but ain't it just like the Baggies and just like the Championship, hoping for better things on Saturday.
The usual suspects are being quoted for the Middlesbrough manager's job, including Kevin Keegan, which would be about as successful as Steve Bull coming to manage the Baggies!!
Just bought a local evening paper and the guy in the frame is Gordon Strachan, followed by that Alan Curbishly one.
GORDON STRACHAN could be appointed Boro's new manager as early as tomorrow following the sacking of Gareth Southgate.Chairman Steve Gibson will not waste any time in trying to find a replacement in order to maintain the promotion push. The new manager should definitely be in place for this weekend’s clash with Preston.
Strachan is known to be available and is the red-hot favourite with the bookies
How do you feel about those two then Joe?
Either would be better than Gareth. I'm searching whart remains of my memory banks and wondering if either has promoted a Championship team before?? I suspect that Curbishly has.
So Southgate has been fired, it was obviously going to happen at some point. Strachan could work out if he is appointed.
Looking forward to the match later, good luck Chelski also.

Curbishley has I think, with Charlton but didn't want Championship management again apparently, Strachan not sure about.
Darlo, is it on ITV1 tonight? Too lazy to pick up remote!!
I've cheated and looked 'em up. Strachan has no experience in this situation, and Curbishly has. Another Middlesbrough management cock-up on it's way. They'll be playing Darlo in a couple of seasons :fume:

I have seen his name mentioned today.

Hasn't Curbishly go an on going case against West Ham at the moment, I think that's the reason he's out of football at the mo.Reference:

Man U kick off against CSKA at the Luzhniki Stadium is on Sky Sports 2, coverage from 5 kickoff at about 5:30.Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid at SB is on ITV 1 though 7:30
What a relief to see Southampton finally get rid of the points deduction and on +2 points on Saturday, they've brought in some experienced players to mix with the youth so can move on now despite all these tough times.

I bet our Darlo could give them a good game, joke Curbishley is a good manager to get in the Championship, we did try to get him before Tony Mowbray was appointed after a certain Mr Robson was sacked.
According to SSN, your chairman had made the decision before the win last night, strange really, you are 1 point off the leaders (us) and the Championship is a notoriously difficult division, and it's not like you have made a really bad start, apart from a certain match that we won't mention, (must make casserole on Saturday afternoon)
Curbishley will be back in the game at some point, he's been missed but he's been good on the commentating or expert side of things at the mo.
Lol PB.

Thanks hun, good luck to Man Utd, and Chelsea tonight. And I make no apology for this picture because he is gorgeous!!
Since you mention him, everyone here would want Tony Mowbray as boss. It's difficult PB, I don't want this to sound wrong, but we have exceptional players at Middlesbrough and I think that they have been mis-managed.

eurrrrrrrrgh...
no doubt he was kissing the badge,
Tony Mowbray was a decent manager, he done great things at Hibernian, did good at WBA despite it all going a bit wrong towards the end and he's not done bad at Celtic but I still feel he was the wrong choice for them although in terms of European experience he will soon get used to it, maybe the Boro job is his dream one day Crossy.
Joe, I don't take your comments in any bad way at all, you have a really good team and you should be right up there with us and Newcastle fighting it out toe to toe.
I wonder if GS had lost the dressing room lately as not being offensive, I know someone who went to THE match and he says you just did not turn up at all.
Tony Mowbray is a great manager, I was really sorry to lose him in the summer, I love his style of football, and of course he is a hero at your club. His only problem is he is not very defensively minded, but apart from that, the football is a pleasure to watch and I wish him every luck at Celtic.

oh well. In Rafa we trust.
Man Utd are gonna get it on Sunday, everyone said that we were gonna get destroyed by them last year because we didnt have no gerro or torres but still beat them. And we'll do the same this sunday.

LAF, i've actually got a bad feeling you will beat us on Saturday to make up for all the disappointment, obviously not hoping for that as you know.
Well she is a MU fan
Hey Darlo If you've seen us play lately, i would put money on a 4-0 Utd win, but with it being a game of this intensity i think the players will actually play with passion and I include Lucas in that statement.
Rumours are going around Liverpool that Beni will walk if we lose to your team on Sunday. If we lose, we will be out of the title race for sure.
Talk about an all or nothing game.
And Im going, i'll be cheering on the boys and giving Rafa my backing. Cant wait.

Ah... add another to the plastic fans list then
Lots of disappointment recently for you Kopites, still think if you look at the squad compared to United's or Chelsea the quality is better then what you have as they have the strength in depth. Joke players like Lucas, N'Gog etc are just not good enough and it does seem as Gerrard and Torres are a bit relied on too much when the others should step up to the plate sign theres not enough quality or it's just not working at the moment?.
Apparently some posts on Liverpool forums have been very scathing towards the boy who threw the balloon on the pitch. Lots of work for Rafa to do and the fans should keep the faith, you did beat us without Gerrard and Torres as you say so not all bad.
