ITV kissing beckhams behind again. I think i saw more of Beckhams ugly face than i did the match, i was screaming at the tv to actually show the match and not beckham. And he got MOTM? How the Feck does he get MOTM when at least Crouch, Barry and Lennon were far better. And now all the talk is about Beckham going to South Africa, when he didnt do anything in the other three previous world cups he went to. And then people wonder why we dont win the world cup!

Hi LAFBeckham can create the pieces of magic, pick out the pass and can do free kicks and corners but he won't be running down the wings, ok maybe he changed the game and stopped it from being boring but MOTM?, what a joke should have been someone who played most of the match like Crouch, Becks would have got chosen because of his status still a good player but that beard and sideburns were horrid. Good debate about it yesterday on Talksport with Stan Collymore.

Hey Darlo Beckham is probably the most over-rated player to put on an england shirt. He has been rubbish in every one of the world cups he has played in, but people forget this because of his 'good looks'. Plus, did you see Crouchs performance yesterday? It was outstanding and he could be the key man in the world cup because he could be a plan B, but now Beckham has stolen the headlines away from Crouch because he made a few alright passes. I dont get the fascination about him.

Listening to Talksport yesterday was hilarious. They were saying that given Beckhams performance against Belarus, that he should definitely be going to the world cup, but Crouch shouldnt be. Im guessing because he doesnt look as good as beckham does. Exactly why we wont win the world cup.

That's spurious bollocks clouded by your obvious dislike for him. I was in germany (again  For the second world cup there) and it seemed to me that everything happened through him. Moin footie fans btw  xx

Morning everyone

I think Beckham should go, he's still quality and he lifts the team and the fans. I still think he's the best we've got at doing what he does.
As for Crouch, I don't like him. I don't like the way that a team plays when he is on the pitch ( not his fault I know if they keep lumping the ball to him) although I admit that he certainly regularly scores for club and country whenever he gets the chance.
Stats wise he should probably be first choice tbh but it's a bit rich to hear Clive Allen of Spurs bitching on 5live the other night about how he's not being given a chance when he's not first choice at Spurs either.I think that there is just something about him that lends itself to negative reactions - not fair but there it is

Meaty - as for your squad, could you have put any more Man City players in it??

I'd take Beckham, sometimes it's good to have a bit of experience in the squad, and he's easily the most experienced of the current set of English players.

I'd have Rooney, Defoe, Crouch and Agbonlahor as the strikers, and whilst I'd love to see Gary Cahill there, I think it's a tournament too soon for him, maybe in the Euro's he'll get his chance.

As well as the importance of players (A. Cole, Terry, Ferdinand if fit, Glen Johnson, Gerrard, Rooney etc) It's important that we don't have some imported player standing on one of our star player's (see above)  feet. This has happened  to both Rooney and Beckham in previous years. Maybe our players should start dishing it out too?? Torres, Tevez etc?
Secondly we must boycott the foreign owned press when they start to undermine our team and manager. Some of the things they said about Bobby Robson were deeply offensive, and most of the stuff they said when they tried to hound Sven out of the job was irrelevant.

Becks should go next year, if only as a squad player, he can come on the pitch and provide that moment of magic that can win games for England.

Capello seems to know what he is doing regarding Becks, he plays him when he feels he is needed. but we do need to start looking at the players who can replace Becks, whcih I feel Capello is doing.

Crouch was my MOM on Wednesday, I used to think he was an awkward player until my husband pointed out it was his height that made him seem awkward, there is no way that Crouch should not go to South Africa next summer, if fit, but play him alongside a smaller striker such as Defoe, who has pace as well.

My only criticism of Crouch is that I don't think he handles high balls well, I would expect him to go for and get any high cross within reason that is played into the box, with his height, but I think he is an underrated, skillful player and is becoming better with age.

As to the TalkSport debate about Becks going to the World Cup, I remember in 2006, when they kept on and on that Lampard should not go and could not play alongside Gerrard and I used to nearly kick the radio off the table, amazing how Capello can get the best from both players.

Afternoon all, back to the Championship tomorrow, Reading at the Shrine

How true, but it doesn't help when you get the members of the public phoning up TalkSport and 5LIve saying the exact same thing.

Ah! That explains it. I didn't realise that the baffled Talksport presenters (Alan Brazil) were debating this   It's obvious that there is a place for Beckham to come on as a sub and shake things up.

They spent about 3 months before the World Cup "debating" it and then even after the World Cup had started, same old thing, I found the totally annoying Adrian Durham to be the worst one about it, saying IMO some really offensive things as I remember about Lampard's ability.

He can I believe play in defensive midfield as well Darlo, to me he looks a good buy. Thankfully the Sol Campbell rumours have died down.
I was impressed, watched most of that game.

Ha Ha you don't need Sol Campbell, what a relief though. I see no Premier League team has made an offer yet.

I hope Patrick Viera will end up back at Arsenal in the summer, he says he will stick out his current contract with Inter then leave.

France, Portugal, Russia and Greece seeded for the WC play offs, unseeded pot with ROI, Ukraine, Bosnia and Slovenia.
That's pathetic, if they were going to seed them, it should have been done based on the number of points they picked up in qualification, not ranking.

Although it was only decided that they would seed them when the likes of France and Portugal failed to qualify automatically, they were originally supposed to be unseeded... FIFA have to ensure the 'right' teams get through though.

Pinky, Darlo and everyone

Don't write Sol out completely yet - he trained at London Colney with Arsenal yesterday and the boss has said that he is welcome to train with us and improve his fitness, he apparently has a good presence in the dressing room.

But we won't be signing him because we don't need him

Might be a bit of a cauldron at the Emirates tomorrow, I know a lot of Gooners are still seething over the Eduardo injury and McLeish's subsequent defence of that tackle on him that nearly sheared his leg off at the ankle - I'm hoping for a dogs abuse for Mcleish - he deserves it
