Ferdinand needs to be dropped, not just from the team, but get him out of the squad, send him home, and get him to sort himself out. The guys a muppet. Glenn Johnson can go with him, he's not good enough on the big stage when things get tough. Cross after cross after cross straight at the keeper, and his defending was as average as usual.

The substitution decision after the sending off was one of the worst I've ever seen. You need an outlet of pace to exploit on the counter attack when playing with ten men as most of the play will be in your own half, so Capello takes off Lennon and puts Rooney wide right where he's completely ineffective and leaves that useless donkey who can't even get in his club side up front on his own. Then when that doesn't work he swaps the donkey for a carthorse who has scored about 15 goals in his career. It says something when Sven was in the right with what to do, as he said he would have done exactly that. It's common sense.

And to make matters worse... Argentina scabbed a last minute winner...

Hi Disley threw me slipper at the telly when Argentina scored,they are a very poor team,Forlan scored the winning goal for Uruguay tonight,so hoping he can do everone a favour against Argentina on Wednesday.
I guess all us England fans have been bought back down to earth by a lack lustre performance,i am off to Wembley on Wednesday and even though we are already through fans are paying good money and expect to see a proper game

He, he he Argentina are going to have to qualify, made my day that has!! EDIT see that they currently hold 4th place with one game to go so maybe not!!

Poor performance by England, they need to be better at Wembley on Wednesday and Capello needs to look for other options, both in defence and up front, Heskey is just too slow, Defoe alongside Rooney seems a better option, also who is now going to fit into Gerrard's role as he is injured, will he pick Gareth Barry again to play alongside Frank Lampard.

Hope Argentina qualify.


As for England wasn't a good performance but clearly Capello has some more thinking and work to do with the players.

Hi PB i  really believe Uruguay will beat Argentina.Will be interesting to see what changes Capello makes on Wed,for me Heskey has to go,Glen Johnson needs to get a grip or lose his place,we will really struggle against better teams,and need to use any pre World Cup games to create a stable team,not some mish mash of players that are thrown together at the last minute,which has happened with previous managers .

Totally agree Maggie, we need to start to look at the younger players now and have a settled team in place going into the World Cup, time maybe for some of the U21's to take their place in the full squad and in friendlies maybe try out a couple of real babies, Wilshere will play for the full team soon I am sure of it, what a talent he is and well done Wenger for bringing him through, a couple of our babies are near to making the U21 squad as well so even though the arguments rumble about foreign players, we are still bringing some good babies through .. I still have a sneaky feeling though, even after last night's performance, that we will do well next year.

I was surprised at the appointment of Capello, but now I think he is exactly the man for the job and one of the 1966 winning side have publicly said that Capello reminds them of Sir Alf Ramsey and look what he did, is 43 years of hurt coming to an end and football's coming home...!!

The hand of God thing yeah that would be karma for Maradona if Argentina don't qualify. I don't care about him but what I do care is that they're a quality side and the players they have now imo deserve to make it. If they don't then Maradona will probably be sacked
