As to the qualies,. much as I can see how the world cup finals will lose a bit of it's sparkle if Messi and Ronaldo don't play there I will be hoping that neither Argentina nor Portugal make it there.

Me too! They are in such trouble with Maradonna that I was almost tempted to back Peru @ 20/1 to beat 'em. I just think it's a step too far for them. I suspect Argentina will scrape through as a play off qualifier. Shame. Hoever positive thoughts, eh? Nice to think of Ronaldo not being there either.

Had a really good time at the England U-21's match last night, only got there before 1st half injury time due to traffic but the Ricoh is such an easy stadium to get to, took about an hour to get there. They did mess up for the Macedonia goals e.g own goal from a corner by Mancienne, but that Jack Wilshere is a quality player for England and he's so tiny. Andy Carroll of Newcastle got man of the match, missed last two goals because I needed the toilet but there was a TV outside by the door so I watched on there.

..... and we have no idea why you could possibly want that.

Argentina will qualify if they make the playoffs. The standard of opposition they are likely to face is quite simply shockingly awful. As of right now they could still play the mighty El Salvador.

So if we want them to miss out, we have to hope they finish 6th...

Kieran Gibbs had a mixed game but he is a decent player, dead leg Walcott got didn't he. Wilshere worked so hard running up the wings and trying to create a chance then he would run back when Macedonia were on the attack or trying to win the ball when they had it, he worked hard.
