I wouldn't be without my Sky football coverage, but can understand others concerns about it, and I certainly won't be paying 4.99 until midnight tonight then going to 9.99 and 11.99 on Saturday to watch live streaming of the game, can you imagine what would happen if the whole country is watching, the live streaming will crash I would imagine, I'll take my chances with 5Live

Roy Keane has also received the dreaded "vote of confidence", that'ull be P45 in the post then!! and Avram Grant has been appointed as Director of Football at Portsmouth.

Another reminder, ITV1 has got the Belarus v England game on at 7.30pm next Wednesday, so we at least will get a little international football next week

Yep! I belonged to the faction who wanted to stay at Feethams. We had a Chairman with more (of other people's) money than sense. No doubt that he built a fine stadium with state of the art stuff, but somewhere like Scunthorpe's ground would have been adequate.
The short and narrow........ Darlington as a town/club isn't big enough to support a stadium like that, and we are now paying for it. I expect that we will balance out in the Conference again.

Good afternoon Footyfans  trust you guys are well

Anything interesting been going on ?

Bury have picked up a tad

Bah humbug - international breaks

What was Fabregas like at the weekend ?! superb display!!

As for John Barnes  I really don't know who he thinks he is...he comes across very arrogant to me.
Dr Death Avram Grant at Pompey?! Director of football my ar** ! He'll step into poor Hart's shoes quicker than you can say formaldehyde I betcha!

England international on the Web  a disgrace..or watch it at an Odeon I believe?! not one near me..but I bet watching it in a cinema feels odd...anyone done it? do they serve bovril ?

I think its possible the Argies and Portugal could fail to qualify I think? imagine the World Cup with two of the best players in the world  in it in Messi and Ronaldo - that'd be a shame

I actually do watch quite a lot of stuff on Sky so don't really begrudge the subscription as I watch a lot of films and the channels like Living and Hallmark, as well as a lot of the sport as I like tennis, speedway, greyhound racing etc all of which I can watch on Sky.  I really wish the terrestrial channels could provide the old levels of sports coverage, as I still miss the days of Grandstand, Sportsnight, World of Sport and my favourite Star Soccer on ATV.

That's probably why I enjoy Soccer Saturday so much as it reminds me a little of the vidiprinter at the end of Grandstand, when the footy results were coming through and Jeff Stelling is such a good presenter as well.

I remember that era, also World Of Sport, where they had the typist sitting in the background .
Saturday afternoons when the Baggies were away from home, watch the wrestling on World of Sport and then switch over to the vidiprinter to see how the Baggies were doing... happy days!!

Or standing at the bus stop outside Radio Rentals watching the vidiprinter through the shop window waiting for the bus to go home after a Saturday afternoon shopping, somehow running into William Hill's to check on Soccer Saturday isn't quite the same, if you lose reception on your phone!!

Frank Bough  Dickie Davies..Saint & Greavsie...

The vidiprinter was great...you remember when once in a while there a team would be thrashed by 7 goals...and the vidi-printer would read Rochdale 1....Bury 7 (seven) ...the bracketted (seven) in case people confused it with the number 1 ! I always though it was hilarious...it was as if to say "YES! Seven - you are not misreading this" pmsl...or was that just me

Welling were always knocking on the door of the old division 4 about 10 years plus back, slipped down a league now,
Yeah, years ago we followed Maidstone all over the place....in fact they were playing Welling in the Kent Cup Final at the Preistfield when news came though that Kettering had lost and that Maidstone had been promoted to the old 4th Division...Welling were always in the conference until a few years ago....

They have Teddy Sheringham's son laying for them now...and they do a thing where when Charlton are away, Charlton season ticket holders can get in for half price.
