Instead of making an example of one team, maybe they should do all so it's fair as it does go on at lots of clubs.

Best Chelsea can hope for is to try and appeal to knock one year off the ban like Roma did when they got into trouble for signing Mexes from Auxerre then just accept the rest of the ban as there is no way FIFA would remove the whole ban.

Awwww Big Grin. FIFA have finally buckled to the pressure of getting tough. Platini and Blatter can't stand the fact English clubs are dominating, you can bet if Madrid or Milan did that they would be let off the hook Mad.

Maggie I mean Man City Wink. He said Man City needed the money Big Grin.

Glad this place brought you out of
lurking Thumbs Up.

I knew what you meant about the money ,but it sounds like he is only coming to us for a p*ss take, and there are a lot of villa fans who don't want him anyway.
We will get nowhere by continually buying mediocre players.I love MO'N but it is time to up the ante a bit and he has not done it.

Ain't that the truth. Where is the charge for Messi's headbut in the Super cup? One rule for one and one for another.
If you see the clip of the dive Eduardo didn't even appeal for a penalty. Contrast that with the behaviour of Ronaldo every single game or Drogba going down like they've been shot and winning countless decisions by deceit.
FM
Maybe MON thought he was the right kind of player. I think Dunnes time at City was up once they brought Toure and Lescott so he wanted a new challenge I read in the E&S he can't wait to get going Big Grin. It's tough with prices that clubs are demanding though for players but in January he may decide to bring more in with cash that Randy Lerner makes available.

FIFA are supposed to be fair but they aren't, no wonder all these incidents keep happening. Eduardo is not a dirty player at all but it was harsh. Ronaldo and Drogba do go down easily but according to the stats last season they had actually cleaned up their act but still doesn't stop players diving Laugh.

I think we needed to put ourselves in a position to push the top teams right from the start of the season, other teams have bought and sold more wisely, but will reserve judgment.
Going to Wembley for England v Croatia on Wed not missed England home game for about 15 yrs , but gave up the friendlies a few years ago .Think this one is going to be a corker

The trouble with the diving issue is that there's also this fuss over whether there was contact or not.

The thing is, players dive when they haven't been touched, and they also do it when they have.

It's distinguishing what is enough to take someone down that needs to be done.

That's a good point Disley. I remember when Owen got that penalty against Argentina - there was the merest hint of contact but all the english media backed him to the hilt.
Their mantra then was that a player is entitled to go down if there is the slightest contact.
Well Arsenal are going to appeal the UEFA ruling because they are saying that their video shows contact on Eduardos right knee.
It looked like a penalty at the time from where I was sitting at the Emirates but the angle wasn't great.
I'm just feeling really put on as a Gooner tbh when we see worse play week in week out here and in Europe and nothing is said.

Are you going over to Live Cloud?

Hey Maggie Hug
I'm regged over there but not too keen at the mo. I will be coming to the footy fred though as I understand it's getting moved over.

LOL I am England through and through but just really peed off with it all at the mo. Eduardo was a naughty boy but the over reaction has been astonishing to me.
We love him at Arsenal, that injury would have killed off the career of lesser players.
I don't live too far from Wembley, my younger son works right next to the Stadium in York House Big Grin

Evening all, late tonight because my dear hubby has been playing on FB all night!! His mate up the road and 2 cousins were much more important than letting me on here!!

The England friendly on Saturday I'm looking forward to because the Slovenian captain is none other than the Baggies own Robert Koren!!
Still really hope England will win!!

Naggie, try and keep faith with MO'N, I thnk he has the vision for the club, and Dunne could prove to be a really good signing, the article in the E&S certainly looked as if he was up for playing for the Villa. I'll have my fingers crossed for you after the international break, because you play the Blues then don't you? That'ull be me a Villan for 90 minutes then!!!

lmao re: chelsea 'tapping up' that lad...the media have gone nuts now..I wake this morning and it's turned from tapping up to child trafficking Eeker How absurd! That diminishes the real awful 'child trafficking' which does go on. This isn't child trafficking fgs! these 'young' players are set up in a life of luxury, their parents are given houses and even jobs..and paid a fortune to boot! nb. its just the term they are using which is winding me up, the real issue isa different story, but we are being spun a curved ball I think Shake Head
