I bet the clubs will say these weren't regular supporters, Frowner

That's what Millwalls "people" said when they smashed up Hull City!

But on this occasion it was broadcast live on national tv....I think something will have to be done...well we can only hope. Disappointed

That night I have NEVER been so scared at a football match and I have been to Villa and Wolves local derbies.

We were sheltered from the worst of it because 2 blokes took pity on us, and they told us to get out of the ground and run down Halford Lane towards where the police would be, we did this and had to go through some Leeds fans who thought it was funny to steal 2 small teenage girls scarves and spit on us, I have never been so glad to see a policeman as I was that night.

Pinky Hug
I've been quite lucky really with all the footie I've seen.
I have seen my share of rucks but nothing like it used to be.
We are even having an Arsenal fans v Celtic fans (Gooners v Bhoys) match at Highbury Fields tomorrow to raise money for John Hartson - there is no need for footie rivalry to turn to violence but the truth is that the people doing this just want a ruck and footie is the excuse Frowner

Veggie mindless morons I'm afraid, and we all know how it starts via mobiles etc.

Really hope that goes off ok tomorrow for John Hartson, when its stuff like that, rivalry should be kept out of it, sadly that isn't always the case. And the worst part is the people doing this appeared to be men in their 30's/40's who should know better by now.

Good luck with tomorrow night Valentine

When at city of manchester stadium there is always abit of trouble, if you ask me the away fans are too close to the city fans, there is only one line of stewards keeping them apart... and when it is the manchester derby then all hell breaks loseCrazy Gets tense and then both sets of fans down on first tier start singing offensive songs, though it is being clamped down on bluemoon forumRoll Eyes

Thanks hun, I hope we are not complacent tomorrow night, it's so important for us.

It should be a good time tomorrow afternoon as well, such a shame what's happened tonight but I know a few West Ham fans were coming down tomorrow too to help out as they wanted to do something for JH as well seeing that he played for them too.

Is your arm out of plaster now?

Who'd have thought it? A whole lot of nonsense over some guys kicking a ball Shake Head
It's almost laughable if you don't remember how many people get seriously injured at these things.

Hun, normal footy fans like us see it like that, bit of banter between teams and then ok if you lose, it's a pain, but hey, life goes on!

These idiots just go to footy with one objective - to cause trouble and never mind the innocent people that get caught up in their "fun" as they see it.

I've not been to Upton Park, what's it going to be like getting away from there?

Yes hun finally, I've got a support bandage on it now and doing exercises, but it's still achy and my doctor had to prescribe painkillers.

I'm really looking forward to your match tomorrow, should be some more lovely football and no, I don't think AW will allow complaciency, Celtic will be all out for the win and will attack, it's all TM's teams know how to do!! I shall be watching your match and listening to our match on the radio!

Well, the tube station is 2 minutes away, but to be honest theres the market and a lot of residential homes around the stadium, and I have friends and family rather close, and they have said they can hear people around.
The Millwall fans will probably not go to the station and will hang about for trouble Frowner It was so bad this evening the train wouldnt stop at Upton Park, Plaistow or East Ham, they had to get off at Barking, where I am and take the bus up, or like a lot of people have mentioned, walk up the main road to get there.

Pink Babe whats the parking like at your place. A few lads are taking a mini bus full down

Not too bad mrMiller, I suggest they keep away from Birmingham Road, parking expensive there, come off at Jt 1 at the island go straight over the island and take the exit signposted Smethwick/Birmingham, go to the next island, turn left onto Dartmouth Road and going along there should find either off road or on the road parking quite easily, pretty safe as well, away fans cars get left alone usually. It used to be fairly cheap as well, but I usually leave my car in West Brom now and get the 79/74 to the ground, trouble is parking in West Brom now you have to pay for, so not a good idea for away fans.

Middlemore Road is another good place for you as well as that is where the coaches stop and park up.

Hope this helps and good luck for tomorrow

EDIT:- Tell your mates to be as early as they can be getting there, it can get busy, and they can then walk up to the Birmingham Road and get a burger or there is a MaccyD right opposite the ground, pubs for the away fans I'm not too sure about, but would think you should be ok in the Vine, even though it is a Baggie pub. Lovely cheap Indian food there as well!!

I've got to stay my my husband just gone to East Midlands Airport so I shall wait up for him.
Hug

I listen to talksport every night, been an avid listener for about 15 years since it was Talk Radio and Tommy Boyd and Ceasar were presenters.

Loved James Whale but he got bopped and Mike Dicken RIP died.

Now listen to Ian and George Galloway.

Shame Max Rushden from Socca AM didn't do it for longer, he was great.

I never listened to it until I met my husband then, now I listen quite a lot.

I liked James Whale as well and Mike Dicken (RIP), he used to make me laugh and some nights I would be up half the night listening to him.

Mike Mendoza was another favourite of mine.

I like the breakfast show with Alan Brazil and Ronnie Irannie (sp), and love it when they go for racing news in the morning and play "Mr Ed"

I have the Mass Debating all round Birmingham sticker in my car as well!!
