. I was really impressed with the Baggies against Ipswich. The attacking style has always been there but sounds like Di Matteo has been working on those problems at the back and the midfield looks stronger with Mulumbu in there

We have improved so much defensively this season, Di Mat really has worked on the problems at the back and it has given the defenders confidence and also given Scott Carson his confidence back which he had lost at the end of last season.We are playing attacking footy which I expect, but with a sharper defensive edge, which, much as I like TM, he could not do.
Luke Moore is really making an effort this year as well, just needs some practice at taking penalties or taking penalties against goalies who can't save with their legs.
Noticed a little earlier that Newcastle were considering putting in a bid to Forest for Earnie, they could do a lot worse in the Championship.

RZB, if the day EVER comes when the Baggies were top of the PL, I would sing it from every rooftop I could find!!
We're doing ok, long way to go yet, but we are where I wanted us to be, Saturday will be another test though, Sheffield Utd will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
But I do feel a cautious hope that we are going places under Di Mat.

Theyu gave us a good game 1st match of the season and hope they go back up (with us of course)!!
Robert Earnshaw has been linked with them today, he would be a good buy to get them out of the Championship.. PL, not sure, but to be fair Robbo didn't play him much the Great Escape Season.

Darlo, I really, really hope so.. every year start off hopeful, last year was the worst, I was convinced that this was the year that we were gonna stay there and we got relegated. People say we got relegated the right way (if there can be such a thing), because we kept playing footy, but it was heartbreaking for me and took me a few weeks to get over the disappointment, but I am a glass half full type of fan and can see the postives in relegation and then going back up and hopefully STAYING there!!

They will need to plan better for next time if the Baggies do go up thats for sure . The club have managed to retain most of the players despite a few exits so there is the belief from them that Albion can go back up and are a club of a PL standard should be.

that happened to me too rzb - i think the idea is that our profiles and login details will be used in livecloud so we won't have register again - just go straight in. When i logged in here today - it came up with a box asking if I had a livecloud account..I clicked yes and logged straight in to this forum...i'm gonna check that cloudy thing

Seems like Alonso for Liverpool will be a miss this season like Ronaldo for United. Alonso was the link between Torres and Gerrard and he controlled the midfield, Ronaldo for us was vital in liking up with the strikers and scoring goals for himself, same for Alonso

the alonso sale could be a big mistake as he was one of our best players last season but only time will tell.

Aquilani is a different player to Alonso, so won't be his replacement but he will bring a different style to the team thats needed. This season will definetly be the most competitive yet .
