Afternoon all, Theo Walcott out tomorrow, with I think back injury, will have a look on sky website and leave a link in a mo.

David O'Leary no longer in contention for Newcastle job, what's wrong with the guy they have, give him a chance in the Championship.

I am watchng the funniest item on SSN, fans going to vocal coaches to prepare their voices, doing fitness training and getting professional help because they can't sleep over footy. How do they think Baggie fans get on - we have the Samaritans on speed dial!!

Afternoon me lovelies Hug

Pinky, thanks for the link earlier. I've watched the bosses interview and press conference online now - just hope we can get a good start to the season with all the injuries.

I can't understand why Norwich stuck with Brian Gunn for the start of the season. All the Norwich fans on the phone ins were saying that he is a nice bloke but couldn't cut in last season so why keep him?

Yes but we failed to get him anyway, but they seem to get the deal done... The rags and Chelski do it all the time, one rule for them... another for the rest Sleepy It was only few weeks ago they did the same with another young player.

Hi Veggie and PinkBabe1966,

Norwich stuck with Gunn because Delia felt some sort of mumsy loyalty to Gunn and felt it was only right to let him and his management team to have a chance at putting things right, bless her! Nice sentiment but not really practical judgement in the harsh world of football.

IMO, he should been asked to resign at the end of last season.

Gunn was out of his depth and should have never been appointed to such a role as his first ever football management position. IMO it says a lot about him that since his playing career ended 10 years ago he hadn't managed or assisted at any level; and I think it's fair to say he wouldn't have got the job at any other club in the football league or the Conference Leagues.

The squad he assmembled may prove to be good signings and it seems a bit of a harsh judgement after beating Yeovil 4-0 away in the League Cup, but 1-7 at home to Colchester was a result that it's hard to forgive.

The board have changed at Norwich but Gunn was appointed for this season before the new board were assembled. The new board seems to be a less tollerant of well-meaning failure - thank goodness.

All that said, it's sad when it all ends in tears for a man who was regarded as a club legend, but given the circumstances it was always likely to happen - just sooner than I expected.
