Joe, thanks for that, really like your sig.
Perones, honestly I think you have a real chance tomorrow, for some reason we do not do well in the Carling Cup and I just think early season, new players for us being added to the mix, could leave the door wide open for Bury. I just want a good match and I promise whatever happens I won't take the p1ss, I'm not that type of person!
Hi PB had a great night out at Hall Green a few weeks ago, just about managed to break even.
We went on a Saturday night,it seemed a bit quiet compared to how it was a few years ago,i suppose the new smoking laws have affected it,still a good night out though.

"Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is taking Portsmouth target Modeste MâBami on loan.
Free agent MâBami has spent three weeks on trial at Pompey and is still waiting to learn whether he will be offered a contract.
Bolton are also interested in the 26-year-old Cameroon international but Wolves now appear to be in the driving seat for his signature.
MâBami was originally a target for Wolves in 2003 only to move to Paris St Germain instead. He recently left Marseille in the summer to hunt a new club."
Spot the problem with the above story...

Hyia Maggie long time and all that
Looking forward to Saturday?
We mostly go to Hall Green when we go to the dogs, as it's a nice night out. I own a retired racer and sometimes she goes to special events at Monmore Green where she raced, she loves it, it takes me all my time to get her off the track after she has paraded, I'm sure she wants to go back into the traps again!!
I'm usually fairly lucky when I go, I go by names, if there is a dog with a family name or a name I like, I will back it, my hubby goes by form, and yet I usually end up winning the most and buying the curry afterwards. I think the smoking ban is affecting most places like that, you can't now smoke in the Hawthorns, I mean 90+ minutes of watching the Baggies and no cigarette, how are we to cope!!

Yeah would think you are. I'll have seen two games by the end of today.
Morning Footyfans
Has anyone seen that betting advert on TV with Bruce Grobelaar in it ? Is it just me that finds it distasteful that he was caught video-taped discussing 'match fixing' in the 90's and brought the game into disrepute ?

I go by names as well!!i am also a smoker and i know what you mean about 90 mins of a footie game,i am looking forward to the new season, but am worried that Villa have not bought and sold wisely enough to continue making the progress we made last season.
I am also an avid England fan,and have just got tickets for the Croatia world cup qualifier at Wembley,we have hardly missed a home game in the last 15years and have travelled to quite a few away games,i loved it when we had no base and travelled all over the country instead,it became a lot more family orientated.Wembley is fab,but a more centrally based ground would have been fairer for fans.
Good luck for this season,i want WBA back up

That's a shame for Everton, they didn't want to lose him, looks as if the money has talked after all.
Perones, weakened team for us tonight, 4 players away on international duty. Looking good for Bury, your manager said it would be tough as we have been a PL side and played good football, but I still have a sneaky feeling that a surprise could be on the cards tonight.
I am yet to see one of my teams score a goal.

Maggie, works for us then!!
Lucky you getting tickets, we keep meaning to register to get England match as I would love to go to Wembley, but watching England matches when they travelled the country was more fun definitely.
The England U21's are at the Hawthorns tonight and hubby was on about going, but I want to watch our match on Sky and so he;ll probably go and I'll stay and watch the match.
I think you will be ok. Martin O' Neill is quiet about what he does and I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of signings before the end of the transfer window, Di Mat seems to be going with youth for us, but as many of our babies are coming through as well, I think in a couple of seasons time, if the big boys don't come in for our babies, we will have a really young squad.
I want to be back as well, would like to see us, Villa and the Wolves in PL, would love to play the Black Country derby in the PL.

You don't know our chairman then... It is all that matters, a shame for us fans. Sadly gone are the days when a player was loyal to a club or even the days of testimonials, although we should have one the end of this season for a long serving player.

testimonials are deffo few and far between
i like our chairman, he is a genuine fan of the club and he seems to let the manager make the choices - why have a manager if you dont let him manage?
Exactly Barney, a manager should be left to manage. I like both your chairman and manager and worry for you that if too many players decide to leave, you may lose him.
We are now trying the director of football/head coach route and I do have misgivings about it, though I suppose it could be argued that it means Di Mat has more chance to coach his players and to have them playing the way he wants, instead of worrying about transfers, but as I said I will have to be convinced about that one!
Keep him though, 'cause I'm not sure if Wolves get a sell on fee from his transfer!!

Steven Gerrard has a groin strain and will not play tomorrow night. He has gone back to Liverpool for treatment before the PL opener against Spurs on Saturday.
Ooops got it wrong about the U21's being at the Hawthorns tonight - sorry

i'm not sure either
director of football/coach doesnt usually work out - too many chiefs not enough injuns, but i guess it depends on who the chiefs are and how well they work together - just give it time
I like our manager too but feel that he is just waiting for the Man U job to come up I think we have a great management team and that is half the battle
bit worried about the start of the season though we had an awful start last year squad isnt any better this year

Fabrice Muamba was apparently in the long squad for England's friendly against Holland tomorrow.
It wouldn't really be a surprise, as he was one of the stars (if not the most impressive player) of the recent U21 tournament.

Jack Wilshere got a run out with the U21s tonight.

Petrov might be moving to Everton as part of the lescott deal, so the papers say anyway. He really does deserve a place in the starting 11 but we have Robinho filled in on the left wing.
Yay!!!!!
Went to MK Dons for the cup match last night, and we won 4-1!!
Hopefully Saturday's 5-0 drubbing was a fluke.
