Alan Irvine is a disappointing choice, but if they can't get Darren Ferguson then they will just have to settle for whoever.
Villa fans just need to keep the faith, MON has done a great job so far of course they are going to be disappointed by the lack of transfer activity but thats due to not much funds but Randy Learner has promised now there will be funds there. I would like Villa to get stronger too Pinkbabe they're doing the WM proud .
I'm disappointed about it but TBH dont know much about Irvine, just what I have read on websites ect. I genuninely hope Villa do well, as I am NOT keen on B'ham City and the soap opera goings on there. I honestly think as well, that with a couple of sensible buys by O"Neill, Villa could really make a challenge next season.
I'm the opposite i'm not keen on Wolves, don't mind Brum. I hope both stay up and Albion join but one of them will probably drop down again.
Theres going to be lots of work for Irvine then if he does join the Albion.
Mr Meaty seen that pic before .
Darlo I darent quote my views on Wolves on here, I would get banned for life!
Not even our under 21's can beat the bloody Germans
*Is glad I decided to watch Murray instead*
Oh well, at least Muamba had an absolute stormer of a tournament.

No! But I usually spend a month there each year. Not this year though because I took very early retirement and haven't sorted my finances out yet.

More expensive at the mo too with the weak pound and strong Euro.
ohh thanks for that, sorry forgot to read back till now . I mostly read Arseblog and Mania. I've been missing a good rumour mill since Arseweb died, I miss Rupe .quote:Originally posted by Veggieburger:
Hiya Capt
yep that is what I said, he would go if he thought he would get into the side but maybe considering Real as an alternative.
Do you use this website, they post all the Arsenal stories from everywhere if you want to keep up with what is being said
Gooner News
On the subject of Arseblog he has lived in spain so spanish translation isnt a problem for him . This is what Cesc was asked and this is the unsensationalistic answer:
quote:They ask him straight out - 'Would your family understand if you signed for Real Madrid'. His answer:
"Of course they would understand because they love me, they want me to be happy and what's best for me. Whatever club I went to they'd support me. My family will always be there for me. They are always by my side."
Right, so that answer could be to any question. Such as 'Would your family understand if you told them you were gay?' or 'Would your family understand if you told them you'd robbed a bank?'.
I agree what you said about our signing needs. A good strong midfielder is top of my list now one more CB (cant see him buying another one though )and another striker if ADE goes. Seems like RVP will sign a new contract now .
Capt .
Arsenal got some promising youngsters like that Wilshere. I think Kieran Gibbs will be one to look out for next year, can see Vela getting better. You just need a bit more experience to go with the youth.

Yea we need more backup too like you said earlier in the thread. That has been our problem in recent years when injuries come knocking. Wilshere is still very young though so wont play more than half a dozen games at most i would guess.quote:Originally posted by darloboy07:

, there just hasn't been enough cover and Wenger has had to rely on the younger players, although if there is any more cash to spend he knows what he's doing it's long term planning that will get Arsenal back to their best .
If you have too many players it can be hard to get the youngsters some experience like has benefitted Gibbs when Cichey was injured its a bit of a difficult balancing act trying to keep the status quo and keep everyone happy I think we can comfortably accomodate one or two more without causing problems though and should given the last two years .
Keeping the same squad but adding a little bit helps the team chemistry in the long run because they get to know each others strengths and weaknesses on the pitch. Arsenal are the only team not to be in debt, so finances are sound by the looks of it no wonder they are being careful.
We have got large debt from the stadium but its well managed and low interest because it was negotiated by the two merchant bankers on our board (one brought in specifically to do so) I think Spurs is the only club without a debt but could be proven wrong. I dont mind us going into debt to build a stadium, there should be some rule against someone using the assets of the club to buy the club putting it into debt though. Of all the crazy Blatter and Platini rule suggestions ive not seen this suggested yet.quote:Originally posted by darloboy07:

Blatter and Platini are just fools non stop , money is what football is about these days the whole game revolves around it. There is no loyalty whatsoever . The fans are the best but the game has changed so much and it isn't the same, but we still love it regardless .
I was having a little debate with some mates last night about Kaka, and we ended up coming to the general consensus that he's pretty overrated.
We all agreed that he's a good player, but he's not as good as Messi or (as much as I hate saying it) Ronaldo....
Thoughts?

I agree, on current form Messi is the best player then Ronaldo. Kaka still had an ok season though at Milan.

something I've been meaning to ask in here for some time....what's the Confederation Cup when it's at home and how did the US almost beat Brazil in it?
Way too time consuming to explain in my own words what the CC is, so I'll let the BBC do it...Ker-Lick
As for how did the US almost beat Brazil in it... well, that's football for ya!

It's been running for a fair few years Temps,
It's a sort of world cup warm up thing. I think England won it one year, in the pre sky TV era, when it wasn't televised. Not sure how you enter for it, invitation only I guess.
USA beating Spain for me was a bigger shock then them nearly beating Brazil, not sure how they managed that.
Hi Footy fans
Monkey .
Oooops forgive my bad manners, hey darlo, monkey, RZB and Temps. Hope you're all well
Hello Giggles .
So Samuel Eto'o doesn't want to go to Man City and has been offered a two year deal by Barcelona.
Alan Irvine isn't going to WBA

I read yesterday that he is trying really hard to get Ribery...Now that would be a good one

Thanks for that RZB
I guessed it had been going for a while when I heard the commentator say Brazil were happy to retain the title or something?
I asked my dad what it was and he said he didn't really know how they were selected either. Is it one team from each continent or something? He wasn't too happy when I asked in that case if it was another excuse to watch footy

Ooohh but Bayern Munich said they won't sell him for any price and will try their hardest to keep him, Madrid have stuck their nose in before though and he'll probably go there if he chooses to leave.
