No he's not a judas, he didn't want to sign for us, his agent is going to make a bomb wherever he goes and it was about the money. Tevez is going to be up against lots of strikers at City, so whats he going to do then throw another strop?, he's a quality player wish him the best of luck.

Money is a factor, plus if a team is going places why not? or if it's for the sake of the family.

Do we think Carlos Tevez will be a judas if/when he signs for Man City? Personally I won't as it's his choice and he obviously feels it's the best move for his career.

Yeah but we made Owen who is he now. We brought him up and made him one of the best strikers, so for him to turn his back on Liverpool the first time when he signed for Madrid was unloyal but signing for everton would be hugely upsetting given what we have done for him.
Then again, he would probably end up making them worse Laugh

Unloyal and being a judas are 2 different things. He wanted to test himself in Spain and wanted to play for a club that could challenge for titles domestically and in europe. Obviously in hindsight that turned out to be an error of judgement by given the fact that Liverpool won the Champions League the season after Owen left. Ninja

Agree totally with the comments re money and debt. I find it amazing that clubs with the brand profile of Man Utd, LIverpool etc could be in as much debt as they are and are really dependent on the chairman. The Liverpool situation especially surprises me, how can Gillett and the other co owner (whos name escapes me at the moment), could be in the position where they are having to go to RBS and renogiate loans when they have possibly one of the biggest brand names in football?

Transfer fees have frankly become a joke. I dont know what the answer is, we will never go back to the days where footballers were on a fixed wage, but something really needs to be done.

I'm just glad that our Chairman has kept a tight rein on spending, even though we have become a dreaded "yo yo" club, the time will come when we will get up and stay up and play good football, until then, well I will be on the Brummie Road End cheering the lads on as ever and also watching as much Premier League footy as I can

Remember Darren Ferguson for the Albion Wink.

Hyia, oh yeah Darren Fergusion would be my choice, no Fortune is not signing, in fact I'm wondering who is going to sign this summer, we need to make a managerial appointment and soon and get signing players.

Wave

That abysmal defence has to be the main priority then the rest of the squad can be sorted out Wink.

Defence - whats that?! I'm hoping Neil Clement will be fit next season as Paul Robinson has slready said he wants to go. I think he can do a good job for us in the Championship. Also some of our younger defenders could regain some confidence and please, please who ever takes over give Scott Carson a rest and either give a younger goalie a chance.

You definetly need to buy some defenders, but cash is tight if Jeremy Pearce isn't willing to give out lots of funds. A new goalie is a must, basically you got to strengthen in all positions depending on the cash that is there Big Grin.

Trouble is Peace doesnt like to spend money but I'm hoping that with a new manager he will relax the purse strings a little, after all we got 2 million from Celitc for Tony Mowbray and the parachute payments from relegation, I think we need another 1 maybe 2 experienced defenders, midfield we need a holding player, and another striker and DEFINITELY another goalie.

Shame you have lost Tevez, a really underused player last season in my opnion. Hope he stays in the PL.

And lets not get started on the moving penalty spot.

And people say ahhh but it was the same for Portugal as well. Yeh it was, but they all bloody knew about it once Beckham had ballooned the first pen over the bar and found out the hard way about the moving penalty spot Mad

You're right mate.
I have to say that I really don't like Portugal as a team, I don't like most of their players, real arrogant so and so's.
I try to be fair but they are a step too far

Man City have bid in the region of 25 million for Barcelona player Samuel Eto'o according to BBC 5 Live.

Barca's president is quoted as saying that City have made the 28 year old a "stratospheric offer" to join them.

Reports have suggested that Man City have offered Eto'o wages of up to 250,000 per week which would make him the highest paid player in the world. City refuse to confirm or deny the offer.

All the footy news I can get as at the moment I am watching Federer v Soderling
